This was originally a replay to another user on Tumblr, but I want to expand on what I'm feeling in more detail.

I live in mother fucking Indiana. The home state and birthplace of the modern KKK. I even saw them and the proud boys walk down my streets many times while living here. A State that has been Red for as long as I remember living in it, but I still take my black ass to the polls. Just to even try to push back a little bit. I know my vote is going into the black hole that is Indiana politics, but that vote is still better than doing nothing, than giving up and giving into a doomer cycle and letting the cops and fascists control my fate. Indianapolis is the only blue part of my state and that gives me hope (maybe even a foolish hope) that things can get a bit better.
