It could be a great idea. You can set it up so followers can influence what you draw in other ways besides commisions (voting, subscription rewards, etc). I do hope you post the stuff for free eventually though (1-3 months later or whatever) since I don't think I'd use Patreon personally.

Also I think you should put your finished works on Patreon first if you make one. It would help people stay subscribed if they got to see everything early. I can wait a long while to view your stuff if it means you are getting paid by others on Patreon
