something where you can actually cater the YCH to the character, I think is important. that's why I like character select screen YCHes.

character select scren ychs? I'm not sure I know of that.

right, right, I meant like... the character select screen for a fighting game. that's been my favorite application of the "Your Character Here" business model. it gives the customer a general context of what they'll get (character in say... a pose ready to fight with maybe a small portrait of some sort.) but also the artist can still tailor a pose and small details to the personality of the individual, not to mention it makes working with different body types much easier.

I would say a mix of something that a large chunk of your audience would be interested in (ie: bondage :3) and also something where, as mentioned, the YCH is pretty open and not limited to certain species, genders, etc. And if you can get some sort of theme in lieu of anything fun going on around the time of the YCH (holiday, popular games coming out, etc.), that's a nice bonus too.

It's tricky because simple pin-ups can be boring, but if the kink is too specific you really narrow the audience.

that's the crux of it all. go too specific you only get a small number of people, go too broad and people would be bored with it.

What if you open a commission slot and take the idea you like best?

Well that would just be a commission then. which i already do all the time. this is specifically for a YCH.

YCH are tough like this. The Festive Idea seems like a good line of thought. Make it to generic you'll Bog yourself down with countless requests. Only Winter Kink I could think of is the stereotypical Ice Skating on Thin Ice. Leading the character to Encasing themselves in a toonish block of Ice.
