Yeah I am happy I have had good friends for over 30 years but in ways o have always been the connector and water of flowers. They are hard to make in our adult lives that’s for sure.

It been fun to be your aquintqnce over the last couple months or so instead of distant artist whose work I enjoyed in a zine or website.

Like many things worthwhile, friendship requires maintenance.

It's all too easy for any engineer to allow the train to run itself. Forgotten, in time, the eventual end is always a 'train wreck'. Such the same as it is for any relationship. One must always be engaged in the ride.

I was just commenting elsewhere today that over the years fewer people attend out high school reunions. Our 50^th is coming up in 2025 and I'm wondering if I'll make it.

We cherish you for all you are. However much that may be.

Family are the people we live with and who shape our lives.

Friends are the ones who actually care where our lives go.

It can be a difficult tightrope to walk. On the one hand, most people have to work and don't have a huge amount of time for socializing, and they have to pick who they spend social time with carefully. On the other hand, yes, ghosting people will indeed cause them to disappear eventually. On the gripping hand, some people are more introverted than others and LIKE social distance, whereas others need more frequent social contact.

I've been in the fandom since 1989. I've seen a lot of dear friends come and go. But the ones that have stuck with me all this time, they're more precious than gold, and they are the ones I put most effort into.

And I certainly enjoy seeing and hearing from you.

Hang in there, I've lost 2 friends this past year - one over some major differences, the other had a serious medical mishap and his family has had to take him back to Japan to get care.

Tooth 13 in my mouth is an implant, a very expensive lesson learned back in 2019.
