Why do Pokemon furries like to cosplay as Team Rocket?

I might have asked this already but I'll ask it again!
I never understood the appeal of having your Pokemon being a part of an organization that abuses Pokemon. Someone suggested to me that it might be due to the anime from Jesse and James, but I still don't see how that gets a pass. I think what's making me hung up on the issue is the disconnect between the games and the anime. Team Rocket is generally bad in the games while in the anime, you only ever see Jesse and James and their stupid incompetence. I associate more with the games.

Seems something says they do some bad experiments and kill some pokemon [ie Mewtwo.]
Anyway on the topic of why they dress like them?
1. They don't know the lore all that well and see some cool black/red outfit that's simple.
2. #Pokeboomer. I mean, people who vibe with gen 3 dress as the teams there, right?
3. I mean... Maybe they like their motto?
4. *I mean*... Maybe they are into some kinda Kinks that involve some whips and stuff and Rocket is the most in line with the BDSM mindset.
Anyway, I'm a Team Skull man myself if I had to choose one.
