I personally don't have a problem with it, but I can understand how it can hurt a lot of artists, and how it can easily be abused, especially when people can take other peoples work, slap it into the machine and let the AI essentially make a copy of another person's art, in that area, it's pretty much tracing with extra steps.

exactly but not only that just before i made the journal i actualy seen 3d AI wich worry me because that mean soon well most of the 3d artist will have to retire since not much will commision us

Pretty much, yeah, though I'm sure most sites will straight up ban the use of AI art the moment it gets too out of hand, though I can't hold my breath with DeviantART since they're trying to support it.

I hate it as a way of creating quote on quote "art".

I love it as a way of laughing at what abominations it can create.

I myself am not an artist I possess no artistic ability.

However I still feel that it could cause problems later on for artists who work for money by commission.

( Because it's a gamble and not always consistent )

I write stories and such for fun but that's because it's a Pastime and a hobby I enjoy when I have the free time to do so.

But I cannot even imagine drawing art for a living in order to help pay the bills and put food on the table or even for a side hustle to make extra cash when needed. Only four people to get 50% or more of the work done by using that AI functionality type of thing. ( sorry I'm not related to informed on what it's all called and such )

I think if this whole AI thing becomes more popular than websites should start regulating rules and such where people that use the AI type of stuff won't or cannot ask for a certain amount of money going above a certain number. While on the flip side artists who actually have to create what they make from scratch can freely decide their prices and such since it's only fair because they have to create 100% and have to do it all themselves which cost time and energy and possibly money depending on what style of content they create.

When it's good it's good, and when it's not, it's weird. I wish there were a permanent watermark on ai-gen pics, because there are artists that casually skilled, who shouldn't be compared to ai art out of respect.

Honestly I wish the ai could communicate sentience. I'd love to talk to it as it explains to me why it's making someone's boobs so big and beautiful.

AI is made just to imitate what it is taught, therefore the result will never have more value by something made by an artist with the talent and time to create something astonishing.

I feel it could be a useful tool, but it also basically show the issue with things like digital ownership. AI use directly other peoples art to make 'new'. It needs input to learn how, and a lot of that input is not being looked by the those that created it (See DA's forced opt in for allowing AI learning, which was a problem because those that have passed do 'not' get a say. and how that made them back peddle hard.)

We make a big deal when people copy or trace others work, this is kinda advanced version of that as without input it can't output anything. so you could theoretically scrub someones style and hard work out of AI generated art, and make a lot of money off many peoples long time effort honing their craft.

I dont really Care about it, since you can easily figure out that its AI Art since most of the Time there is a Minimal to Massive Error's in the Picture itself.

Like more Hands/Arms/Legs/Fingers and other Stuff.
Also sometimes the Proportions of Limbs and Body is fucked, like a Double Joint, Bending Backwards, and even also floating Objects and other stuff that makes no sence.

I don't really care for it tbh. I only use it to see what kind of abominations it creates.

eeeeh, personally I'm pure neutral on the matter. funnily enough I DONT think it will completely hurt artists, tho it will make it much harder for them to exist. there is a good chance that machine generated works will make the artist profession a legacy profession (much like black smiting, still used but not like it was back in the day).

me? I'm only neutral as I do creative stuff purely for the fun of it, I think machine generated creative works will kinda force people to take that stance or get absolutely stomped by the mechanized menace.

AI is not much different from Substance painter (or similar tools) drag-and-drop materials. You just take a material and tell the program "This 3d object is this material", then add a smart mask and tell the program "Ok, now make it rought on the edges" then add another mask and say "oh, and add dust and scratches on it". And presto.
In the past the movie TRON didn't get an award for VFX because the academy thought they cheat on the special effects because they used computers.

This is the same thing. AI is a tool just like everything else.

the free AI art programs... I tried them a few times largely to make some pretty hillarious results.

though more advanced ones exist that are better.

I view it as sort of like a mutant copying of a variety of art styles that the AI finds. though depending on it it may actually be a sort of copyright infringement.

I hate it. As artist, I am feeling remplaced. And it's even more worrying to see how fast the AI art is becoming more and more better

Like tracing, can't stop it, but I know I'd like credit, however unless something changes AI and the users of the art AI will never credit the sources the AI used thus it is art theft to me. It uses other peoples art to 'best' fit some key words.

Could it be a useful tool? Maybe, will it a tool that's abused? 100% and already happening.

AI art should have a mandatory label or metadata stating it was labeled "AI created." There are a ton of implications of whether this is a good or bad technical development., but there were tons of good an bad implications for stuff we all use regularly today.

AI has its uses, but its not being used right yet. AI for image repair is something that used to be the forefront of AI image tech, but now seems to be on the back burner. I used to read tons of articles about how AI could be used to repair and alter images in a way to make them better or fix mistakes. But that vanished in leu of "AI MAKE fARTS."

Im not against AI art, it does have its merits, but so far the applications are all wrong.

I feel it can be used to help get ideas going or to figure out a pose maybe you're stuck on. But it should not be used as the end result for art or pushed as such.

I think AI art will never truly put artists out of work. Especially since there I'd no such thing as actual "intelligence" in AI. If anything it will give actual artists an edge over AI art if it does ever become common place, something I doubt that Will ever happen. That edge is heart, soul and creativity. AI can't make super specific niece art for the NSFW community if there isn't any previous or plentiful art already for the subject. AI requires artists to even be able to function.

If AI art becomes prevalent, there will be ways that creative artists will make to combat unauthorized use of thier art in the AI learning process.
