Those percentages are not related so they'll overlap. Loosely (not completely accurate numbers here but presented for the sake of calculations) 1% mortality in 8 billion people in the world is 80 million dead. Assuming 90% of people at 100% resistance, that means that only 800 million people are at risk and 1% mortality leaves 8 million dead.

The death rate has decreased thanks to the new omicron, and I remember how Delta knocked me, my partner and his mother down. Ku and I had a temperature under 39, I was not treated then and survived alone in a rented apartment in another city and on bird rights. I also remember that Ku was left alone because his father was drinking, his sister lives in another apartment and ran over her with a barrel, and his mother was hospitalized with pneumonia.

Generally omicron is more infectious and less deadly, but yes it still sucks. Data in CIS countries is kinda unreliable right now (there are suggestions that pandmeic mortality has been much higher than officially stated) so continue to be careful.
