Have you ever been to one and what was it like?
Recently my Twitter timeline has been full of this one event going on right now.
I'd love to go to one just to see all the adorable, funny, and just darn beautiful suits running around.
Are there any near North Jersey?

It was expensive, some people were kinda rude, It's kinda pointless to go without a fursuit or a friend.
My last con visit was in 2019, I haven't been comfortable going again.
Your closest furcon for you would be Anthrocon in Pittsburgh, PA.
I kind of expected it to be boring without wearing a suit so I’m not surprised about that at all. Thank you for the help and advice and I’m sorry to hear about your experience :(
I had a lot of fun with it. I went with a RL friend and we met and hung out with some of our online friends. I did the artist alley while I was there and took commissions, not so much because I needed the money but because I wanted to have something to do while I was socializing. I have to admit it was good for my ego to have people come by and recognize my art and get excited about it.
A lot of people go there to cut loose. It's a big party with a lot of drinking and debauchery and noisy chaos. So you have to be prepared for that. MFF in particular has grown a lot in the last decade, too, so I imagine it's getting pretty crowded. I liked to stay at a hotel somewhere away from the convention so that I'd have a quiet place to retreat to. The trade-off, of course, is that you are driving, walking, or taking a cab to and from the convention every day.
I will admit the whole “drinking, debauchery, and noisy chaos” thing kind of worries me a bit(I get very uncomfortable around those situations) so maybe this con isn’t for me I guess???
If a convention were to be like half an hour from me I would happily just take the bus back home and all. Since the nearest con is over in Pittsburgh I can say bye bye to that x) Thank you, swift!!!
