There's always the option of posting the link now, and when animations work again, post it again here.

Going by FA standards, that will take long enough for everyone to forget, and it will be like it's a whole new piece.

Post it now with an external link and a really spicy image to appear in people's feeds.

Then repost it when animations start working again.

My only issue with the 'spicy image' thing is that I was doing my best to keep the details of this animation close to my chest. The way it plays out, I kind of wanted every scene to be a surprise to the viewer and having them not entirely know when we reach our 'finale' so to speak. Really drive up that 'thrill of the chase' thing. Granted I guess I could throw together a mock-up like I did for the fund page.

Obviously I knew that I could always post it later, I was just wanting to post them both at the same time to maximize the engagement and get better first-time reactions. Not that I think it'll change your lives or anything but since animations are just about the only thing I do that gets reliable feedback I hate that FA is nerfing it with their stupid bullshit.

I'm not sure that I'll post it today but I might post it some time before the weekend, if I can get some information on when we can, or can't, expect a fix. Like if they come out later today and say "sorry, no animations, indefinitely" then yeah, guess I'll just post it. Of course they wait until it's my biggest animation project to date. And of course I WAIT until this fucking week to finish. One week earlier, it's fine, and it works for ever, no problems.

Fucking sigh.

When I say "spicy image," I don't necessarily mean a full screenshot from the animation. I mean something eye-catching so that people click on it in their feeds.

Maybe a close-up of both their faces with a mid-opacity bar horizontally across the image and "ANIMATION" or something.

If it really comes down to it, you could convert to a video format and go the route others go these days, posting to The Hub, XVid, NG, or similar. That might even work better. A long gif is very big but an mp4 or webm is quite manageable.

I've already got it in WebM format but I wasn't planning to post it to newgrounds or anything. e621 does WebM files so that's where that version was gonna go.

I'd say give it until Friday. When stuff still isn't fixed then post it if you still decide to.

Unfortunately my real answer is the giggle-figgle-gumdrops sort, but if you were to host off-site I would just post it again once on-site is functional. People who aren't paying attention and question it weren't reading in the first place.
