First - thanks to everyone who approached me for a commission - I greatly appreciate it! Being able to break even on the trip was very much needed.
Having to turn people away wasn't fun, but it's good problem to have. I was VERY serious about getting every com done, since being on paper meant they needed to be hand delivered - or else we would need to mess with UPS, which I really REALLY did not trust.
I found the con to be enjoyable this year - working in the AA was oddly relaxing, especially after they started managing the crowd after the first day. People watching at a furry convention leads to some rare finds. Now, I didn't actually DO anything at the con besides work, hang out with friends, and walk around the DD and AA twice. That's fine tho, most of the panels at the con aren't really my thing. I wished I could have talked to some other artists more, but that's on me to track them down. I just wanna talk shop lol
My sights are now set on AnthroCon and possibly FWA - FWA is only a 3 hour trip for me, but it's a month and a half before AC, so that much vacation time might be hard. We'll see what happens.

What one friend did in the marketplace was they closed up early on Sunday and just wandered the DD to chat with some of the other artists and vendors there since they too had spent nearly all their time in AA.
Next Year I'm going to splurge for an extra hotel day so I don't have to leave on Sunday.
And like above, most artists and people chill in the back area of the main hotel lobby, even that can get packed sometimes, but it's a great place to have a jam.
Many panels just seem to be really simple stuff or niche stuff.
