Random thought re: faves

Hypothetical thought: If FA were to change their code to either
(a) notify you about art that users you watch have faved, or
(b) added a new action to share art you like, which added it to the submissions of users watching you
...would that be a good feature to have? And which one would be better?

Every now and then, when I post commissions I got, I get a bunch of faves from a similar group of people. Imagine having 10 times the same pic in your timeline because people you follow all faved it. x_x
And I find a) to be kind of redundant in a way - if I want to see what people faved, I just go on their profile and click their favourites.
I mean, not a bad idea for more exposure for artists/pieces, but at the same time... this could easily be abused and/or flood a user's message inbox in so many ways. :X
But yeah, part of the problem with (a) is that most users fav so many things, and adding a sharing behaviour is not what anyone already using it expects. (Kinda like how Twitter changed likes to get shared, and people still hate it when RTs were already there for that purpose)
