Maybe they exclusively want the characters as they appear in the show? I mean, a friend of mine usually asks me why I often draw quadruped characters such as from the lion king as bipedal. I dunno, I don't mind either way and I love the way you draw Pokemon. :3

I'm not totally sure about this one but I have seen some people talking about it as well. Like you mentioned in some of the comments regarding meowscarada especially. I saw quite of bit of hate about it when the new games first released. I guess in it because they are more disappointed that we got another cat Pokémon than went from being a quadrupeds to Biped. I heard similar talk around incineroar and being disappointed in not only its typing but also also that fact that it stood up when the previous two forms did not. I think its just fantasy expectations that don't align with what these people are wanting

To me it's the owner-pet vs owner-captive that makes the more human-like pokemon designs feels a bit off putting. The more human-like they are, the closer the pokemon capturing feels similar to human trafficking.

Another thing, the fire cat wrestler design really comes out of nowhere, when the players who choose a fire cat are probably expecting a fire tiger as its top form, but they got buff man cat with fire for underwear instead.

but I'm not a pokemon fan in the beginning. So don't take my word too seriously. I don't hate anything, i just dont join in the hype, nor I do play any games.
