My advice to everyone: Just bookmark your submission inbox and skip the front page.

It's a decent suggestion (my usual first place on the site is my messages page) but I rather enjoyed the front page as it was! It's nice to be able to catch submissions and interesting artists as they pop up, so I'd rather not completely ignore it...

Thats why I still log on from the front page.

Thankfully nobody has been able to invade the music section of the front page successfully! Although I will admit, seeing Colson's expression when he did this meme was pure gold :D

The voice meme from a while ago came close! At one point it was rapidly pushing music submissions off the front page - it's calmed down now, but you can still see the occasional one coming round. In that one's case, I was quite tempted to do it myself, but I never got around to it and my urge to do something like it came out much later in the form of my recent question-answering submission.

I use  adrinoma's artist page jumper Firefox search bar add-on thing (http://www.furaffinity.net/journal/906597/) and it is all sorts of awesome, but yeah, bookmarks work too, I guess.

I don't mind it too much, since I avoid the front page thanks to  adrinoma's search bar add-on and therefore avoid the general crowd. My inbox got slammed pretty hard since everyone I'm watching is doing it, but those people I actually care about so it's okay. (Some of them are kind of cute, even, but obviously that's not the sort of thing I actually said on any of their pages.) I even briefly contemplated participating, except that I have enough pictures of me in my Scraps already, and the only thing different about this one is the "take it exactly as you are right now after just having woken up, no prettying yourself up or anything" stipulation, and I really don't think anyone needs to see that in particular.

An FA search bar add-on - that's an intriguing idea, I'll look at that! Like I said above, though, I don't want to avoid the front page entirely - it's a good way to discover artists that you have no idea about, particularly in the music section, when it doesn't have irrelevant submissions all over it like the measles.

Of course, the whole idea of the meme is made much easier and therefore infectious because of the ever-increasing number of Mac-type people with the computers who watch them eternally through their unblinking eyes. I'd have to go and find the camera if I were to participate, and doing that requires more effort than I'm usually prepared for in the morning.

And I've been attempting to learn to play that song for a while - it's surreal listening to it only after knowing Iron Savior for so long, because it's so difficult to believe that it isn't one of their songs. It was never a secret that Piet was a fan of Judas Priest, but it's as if the entire concept of the band was based on that one song.

Surely it can't be more surreal to go from Iron Savior to Judas Priest than it is to go from Gamma Ray to Judas Priest (or Iron Maiden)....
