Ha ha ha I know it's like already January, but I just want to share a few updates before January comes to an end. Sooooo first of all HAPPY NEW YEAR! hehehe I hope you all had a great new year and a nice holiday season. For me it was...uhmm meh idk I have been sick almost constantly and just allot of stress. But nevertheless we gave our children a good Christmas and spoiled them with lots of gifts. And not to forgot both my children have their birthday in November and December, so that made things extra busy but also fun :) And idk if people are actually reading this, I mean it's quite a long read. But at least it helps me to give all the thoughts a place and move on ♥
YOU CAN SKIP TO PROJECTS IF YOU DON'T WANT TO READ ABOUT PERSONAL STUFF AND BIRTHDAYS AND MOVE ON TO THE PROJECTS AND PLANS FOR 2023!
Soo lets begin with my son's birthday. He turned 4 on November 5! Not just a year older, but this also meant he would say goodbye to kindergarten and say hello to a new world in school. These where exciting times for sure. First I prepared for goodbye gifts to give at his kindergarten. I've made 16 cute fleece marble bags in 4 different colors with a moon embroidered on it. My son's name means moonlight, so I have been using a moon symbol allot ever since he got born. In the bag we put in a wooden puzzle and a homemade date cake in the shape of a moon :O The teachers also received a little gift to thank them for their care ♥
After his last day in kindergarten, the next weekend would be his birthday. For his big day I spent a week on creating this huge cake made from chocolate and marzipan. I created this huge pirate/ocean themed cake! My sister was actually supposed to make the cake, but then suddenly I had to make it myself so at the last minute this gave me some extra stress. But I was very happy to make the cake in the end, as I really loved the end result, it was tasty and the best part was seeing my son being super happy with the cake. I mean there was a huge red octopus on the cake, what more can you ask for :P The sad part was though, almost everyone we invited was sick. It was supposed to be a cake for 16 people and only his grandparents could come so we ended up eating the cake for the rest of the week hahaha But the most sad part was for my son, he was very sad that everyone had gotten sick and couldn't come for his birthday :( poor thing. Times like these are already very exciting for little kids. He becomes very full and can't sleep well during these times. And then for us this time it was the switch to kindergarten to school, birthday, more birthdays coming up and the holiday season that became very stressful for us all. But the good thing is it's all behind us now! And he's doing very well on school! ♥ Yay
My daughter's birthday was on December 10th and she turned 2! I've gotten sick (again) after my son's birthday but I was determined to make her a birthday cake too. This time I was prepared so I created this cute jokie cake for her since she is a big fan of the show and attraction from the Efteling. It's a fairytale, similar to grimm Theme Park and she is such a fan of the cute little jester with a big red nose. This cake also took me a couple of days to make and it was a huge success, she loved the cake, she constantly smiled and the cake was tasty and this time not everyone called in sick hahaha so almost everyone could enjoy the cake also :) Naturally she's been spoiled with gifts just like my son was. Oh and I also made her a fleece crown with a number 2 on it! ^__^ ♥ They are still wearing/playing with it this day! Luckily it was less stressful this time, since 4 is such a bigger step due to the start of a new chapter aka school. And also I think she isn't overwhelmed as quickly as my son does, so that really helps too.
Soo again after my girls birthday I've gotten sick again >_> We literally had all these highlights these past few months and in between I was sick almost constantly :P It was something different each time. At first it was just a common flue, then I had a soar throat and later it was actually covid and everything just hurts and then I got a heavy sinusitis on Christmas day that I had to take antibiotics for later when it only gotten worse. I had a very bad face ache, I just couldn't function anymore and on top of that I felt very stressed due to work being delayed again and just feeling powerless and sad because I was sick again. The children would be sick often too and it was already hard to take care for the children when I would be sick as well. Everything was just super crappy for the past few months >_< Pfft sorry just had to say it! ughh
But nevertheless we did spend the day with my parents in law, I felt good at first but later that day the sinusitis (well a very heavy pain in my face started, I didn't knew it was a sinusitis until later) started. Once they would go home I would go to bed immediately because I was just DONE, so much pain and so tired. At first I thought maybe it's from all the stress, but nope (well maybe it helped with being weaker?) My kids have been spoiled though, we gave them lots of gifts but I am just happy it's all behind us now! Everything just gives to much tension you know, like the children are getting restless, people are getting sick and everything is just such a drag and not fun. At least normally it's quite a happy time and it still kinda was but I am just sooo exhausteddd! O______O
Then new years came, we spend the day with just the 4 of us. I was just done with everything. I just wanted a chill day for once. So my husband made olibollen ♥ so delicious ^__^ Sadly I endured allot of pain since Christmas and as stubborn as I am I wanted to wait it out before going to the doctors (a flu would normally go away eventually). I knew it was some cold or sinusitis that caused the pain, but it only gotten worse and every time when I did want to call the doctors it would already be too late or the weekends. So I waited it out until new year and then I finally got on antibiotics and see what that would do for me. It sadly took a while to kick in, a whole week. And to top it off with a cherry the sinusitis had spread out to my neck and shoulders and caused a bursitis. I did call the doctor about it, but as always I like to avoid any contact with them (I kind of dislike the doctors assistant, she never listens to me and whenever I call she always acts very hateful towards me) I told her I had allot of pain. In the end I just took some extra painkillers and EVENTUALLY the heavy pain in my shoulder went away. It was not the first time I had a bursitis so luckily I knew how to handle it. It took quite a while though and I haven't been able to move my arm (at least I had to minimalize and couldn't reach out or above my head) for quite some time.
On to the projects! I covered some personal projects in the journal above, so let's move on to the commissions! So in between the busyness of the season, birthdays, school and sick days I actually also worked on Etsy orders. I tried my best to finish as much as I could, but will pick some highlights. Next to my regular splatoon hats I also could make a Miku hat again. It's been the longest time I was able to make a Miku hat again and I really enjoyed making it. I also photographed the finished project so I could finally make an updated entry for this hat. I am quite excited to share this project with you. I also made something I never made before, a Pearl hat! And wow it was quite a challenge, but I am super happy with the end result. I already posted a sneak peak on my ko-fi if you are curious, so be sure to take a look. It was much fun to figure out her patterns, since she has such an unique design. I couldn't reuse any of my other patterns, so it was a hat completely made from scratch. I hope you will be excited to see more updates about this hat as well. I like to offer this hat in my shop in the future. I just want to figure out a crown for her first, since the commissioner only bought her wig and not a crown with it. And it feels incomplete to offer a pearl hat without her crown. So that's definetly something to look forward too ^__^ Soo yeah even though it was rough on me I at least did something....but at what cost? I feel I had to disappoint allot of people in the end. And I also felt I couldn't handle the stress anymore and wanted to give up................I will see this as a huge lesson and take things differently in 2023. See next part of the journal!
UPDATE: I have decided to put this in a new journal :P It's about 2023 after all so I can keep this one focused on Nov-Dec 2022 :O See that's what happens when you don't post an update regularly >_<
