It's a tool that tries to do something for the reader. It's mostly just... dumping everything into a pot and making stew. Specific key words and phrases are needed for the particular niche, as are visual cues. But they don't mix well. You'd need a separate voiceover guy doing all the talking for everyone to make it work.
I get it, but I don't like that I get it, and just wave it off anyhow. In isolation it's just crafted words, fine enough for something cheap and easy. It just doesn't mesh with trying to make it fit into a coherent story. I saw someone written as making quips and anal play jokes multiple times while also having someone lick a toilet. I'm betting the butt-lover audience was suitably box-checked but it was ham-fisted as hell.
