I can understand why you don't like shows like that. Many of them have mean-spirited jokes about sexual themes, violence, bullying and in some cases swearing. Yet I still like The Simpsons.

I love adult animation, which is why I hate much of modern adult animation so. People see “adult” as “rude”, “crass”, “mean spirited”, “spiteful”, “taboo”, “sexual”, “violent”, and crapsack, and the old mindset of “animation is just for kids” is what has been holding animation in this dark age, with animation either being sanitized for kids or Family Guy(the bad kind, not the good kind) with all the mean-spirited, cynical sex and violence

Well, I don't like adult animations, its sound terrible.

Adult animations are just made for cash-ins, just to milk their franchise. They just went downhill. even the Rick and Morty creater ‘Justin Roiland’ was charged for felony.

Dark humor is always present in it sometimes, SML for example where it was seen in the eyes of kids, but that is when introducing a certain character, the content started becoming more adult and kids randomly took inspirations from the show like how one kid supposedly tied a Neus around his neck. I personally don’t like SML since there are moments where they made fun of Mexicans, the characters themselves are hard to become likable since they can be assholes in most episodes.

I never got into adult animations; they never did it for me. The only reason why I would get into them is if they're funny, but they're really not to me. I don't get the humor behind it. I'm more into innocent animated movies, and TV series, but still ones touch on serious topics like The Incredibles with suicide and Avatar the Last Airbender with forgiveness.

What do you think of invincible? too much violence and blood?

Here's a fun fact, did you know that the original Looney Tunes cartoons (1940s-1960s) were aimed originally for adults? that's why they have stuff like the characters drinking, smoking or even joking on very serious topics like racism and misogyny, it was another time, however they didn't need blood nor bad words, proof that you can make decent adult animation without those elements

Gonna throw my opinion into the ring here; In my personal experience it entirely depends on which adult animated show you watch. The vast majority are absolutely awful and have very few redeeming qualities, mainly just being a studio trying to do a cash grab on more popular adult animated shows (E.G. Family Guy, South Park).

However, for every 10 awful adult animated shows, there's one that's really well crafted and has a lot of thought put into it, ranging from witty comedy to thought-provoking drama (E.G. Final Space, Bojack Horseman, Arcane, Love Death and Robots, Samurai Jack). Yeah they can be violent and yeah they can include fowl language, but that's the nature of stuff aimed towards an older audience, it's allowed to go a step further than you normally would if your target audience is of a younger age.

My suggestion would be to look at what's respected and well regarded, as opposed to what's popular. Because they tend to be of a much higher quality and also tell a much more interesting story. Whereas popular adult animated shows, tend to be very watered down in an effort to appeal to the largest audience possible, which massively harms the quality of the show.

I would also suggest not doing a massive generalization when it comes to a type of media, because that way you could really limit the amount of works you could enjoy and you'd be unable to branch out in possibly discovering things you otherwise wouldn't have known about.

That's just my opinion anyway.

I stay away from adult shows such as The Simpsons, Family Guy, and Helluva Boss and dislike them because of the swearing (even though I read characters from the Simpsons don't swear that much) and as a result, I never draw any fanart of the three shows I listed (except for that one time when I still did requests where I was told to draw Dyno-Mutt pulling out Brian Griffin underwater)

In fact, I get yelled at when I mention anything Simpsons or Family Guy related at home.
