Second life is basically a 3d chat room. Of all my time in there, I can say with confidence there's little it offers that IRC doesn't. Lag is a problem you will encounter, no way around it. A slower computer not make it easy.

However, novelty is probably the largest of features in second life. Each little doo-dad that does something new, and each new avi made from scavenged parts, or custom made for a price. It has it's moments.

Maybe I'm just being pessimistic towards it. ^^"

heh, well, I'm mostly excited at the idea of exploring the places people have made, dressing up my character, and meeting new friends. I love stuff like imvu and second life for that reason. ^^

Yes, there is much appeal in that. After a year or two of it, it lost it's charm for me, that's about it.
It could also help that I only really had acquaintances on it, and had no mic. XD

Again, I'm just being pessimistic. pay no mind to my endless rambling.

Well, I also have to share the family computer -so, even if I was getting addicted, I'd be kicked off for other people to use it as well. ^^;

I have a second life account, but my compi refuses to run it even though I am above the minimum requirements. So maybe down the line I will get a compi that will actually RUN it. :/
