So true. For all search engines, I dumped Google for DuckDuckGo ages ago and even there you don't escape it. You type in one thing then get results for pretty much anything but what you were seeking. And they claim to have "artificial intelligence" these days... another most facepalm worthy case.

Keyword being artificial, not intelligence.

Usually if I need to find an answer to something I use other search engines. I only really use google for websites like FA, Eka's and what not. Ive been using DuckDuckGo recently and it's pretty good about getting straight to the point. Sometime I use Bing too. Google feels like it is always trying to dance around the questions I ask with ads or unrelated things with similar key words, It's most notable when looking up information on whether or not a product is good or not. You will recive nothing but paid reviews regarding said products, and it is infuriating. A lot of sites do the same, but google is especially bad about it.

My favorite back in the day was AltaVista. I remember preferring its interface over Google and, if memory serves, its results were usually more relevant to what I wanted. At least based on things I was using search engines to look up at the time.

This surprises me, as in all my years Google has always had the best results. First result its 95% an add, but second/third/fourth is always what I searched for. If not, I never found that thing anywhere else.

I wonder if you guys have different results than I, like for example having more adds or something. Or maybe its a matter of using the right words to search? Or maybe you straight up search for harder things?

The problem is that whenever I'm looking up something important (as in not simple things like video game tips, or showtimes for a movie, and stuff like that), it's oftentimes something very specific, and winds up being marred by results that have absolutely nothing to do with what I'm trying to look up. It's like Google is a child, and I'm trying to explain to it what I want, but instead of listening, it just assumes that what I mean is whatever it considers to be hip or popular, or other such nonsense.

For example, awhile back I was trying to look up if there's any tips online to keep tortillas from bloating with air bubbles when baking them in the oven, as that's a problem I've had in the past. Instead, Google gave me pages of foods that are fattening, or cause bloating, or things involving tortillas that had absolutely nothing to do with what I meant, because Google couldn't distinguish what I meant by what I typed, and instead assumed based on what it thought I meant.

You have ways to be more precise with your search using things like " " to force the use of words together, or - to exclude something. Like vore -human to have a search result you might enjoy more.
