Life. Death. Where we all stand.

The key to winning any battle is the element of surprise...
SURPRISE!!
SURPRISE!!
Hey.
I'm glad you clicked and are reading my journal.
Today I had the unfortunate duty to check in on a fellow worker at my job. He was an over weight poornhealthed dish washer who did not take the greatest care of himself.
There has been times in my life where I can thank my own self for having friends, or being at work enough for people to know me.
Today? I had paid my debts forward.
I used to be a kitchen manager.
I used to be more valued but i too have been the victim of no calm no show due to I my need and want to make up for the previous 4 years of my life.
I never thought I'd ever have to be "the guy with a heart" again at my place of work.
I may have been humiliated verbally.
I may have been screamed at.
I may have been a person who doesn't show up.
But my heart. Was always there.
My dishwasher friend was older, but he never no call no showed.
His health was deteriorating. Even when I saw him last on Monday.
His last shift he worked was Wednesday.
He missed his shift Thursday.
My restaurant did try tk reach him but no wellness check.
What did it take?
It took a humiliated 33 year old disgruntled former kitchen manager to message one of his daughters (whom I did not know) because we did not know the man's new address.
I was messaged 15 minutes later that he had passed on.
MORAL OF THE STORY
Please take the time to check in on your loved ones. Really check in on them. I m embarrassed to say that it took this long to discover him.
And I shudder to think of how long it would have been unchecked, had I not asked his daughter.
I hope everyone here knows that we all share one thing. If nothing else. We are human. Capable of conscious thought and rational thinking. We may not always see eye to eye, but we all deserve the mutual respect of a dignified passing. Not to wait for days on end.
Care.
Don't be careless unless in creativity.
Thank you all for reading.
I hope you all know that I love you all. And deserve all the love you have not felt.
Pass on the message,
From the time we rise
To the time we fall,
Earth is our home
Forever and all.
