General
this recives Royal assent
https://www.parl.ca/DocumentViewer/.....3/royal-assent
(An Act respecting a federal framework on autism spectrum disorder)
They want a report within 18 months of how bad things are and a full fledged program in 5 years....
A bit late to help me as I'm 38 and pretty much "old age trash" now to most of the causes of barriers that I have now sadly... Though the next generation will benefit.
Ive also talked about this before in a journal about a year ago so I'm surprised Parliament is actually doing something:

And I hope this will stop the yo-yo of institutional life for many of us with ASD. I hope it will stop the severe emotional and psychological abuse that I suffered while they tried to cure me up until 16 then abandoning me.
I hope its better than throwing us on a 1200 cad a month budget (maybe) with no hope of ever improving or being comfortable in a society that goes out of its way to avoid dealing with and accommodating with us. Hell some say they are trying to eliminate us by burning the "access" and "funding" candles from both ends with a certain program.
Now lets hope the intention of "nationalization" of disability pensions soon passes too. Its about time Canada follows the rest of the G20 and makes a program for the "disabled who will never work the prerequisite 6000 full-time hours needed to qualify for.. CPP-D"
https://www.parl.ca/LegisInfo/en/bill/44-1/C-22
(An Act to reduce poverty and to support the financial security of persons with disabilities by establishing the Canada disability benefit and making a consequential amendment to the Income Tax Act)
Though I may lose more than I gain from this "nationalization" depending on what happens. At the very least it'll make moving provinces easier when my stipend drops below 1200 CAD a month

FA+

But the results are at least 2 years off before any new policy is made.
..and maybe 5 before anything really happens.
