AmaDenchArtI don't like my username. I don't connect with it anymore and everytime someone calls me by it I feel horrible (not their fault of course, it's my screename afterall), but I am stuck with it because FA is unable to implement name changes like every other site. It's been "planned" for years now. I love FA, I really do, and I won't stop using it, but darn, I want to change usernames without needing to move accounts.
I'm not very much active online nowadays, aside from FA I use Instagram and Tumblr, and on both sites I changed username and it makes me feel sooooo better about using them. :T
I just needed to get this out, I'll probably delete this journal later or something.

You just can't have chaos like Twitter. I hope FA staff is mindful of this.
I 100% feel for any person that wants something this simple of a feature but is saddened they don't have it.
I have and made a 'Syldria' account, but as you said, moving accounts means losing followers and people who comment which brings me joy to see, even if my username sucks.
There's also people - such as myself - have used crappy usernames from ideas they had when they were young, that we wish we could change XD
Here's hoping that FA would one day allow users to change their names lol. I would pay for it I swear.
I do already have a new account at the ready, just need to find a weekend to repost all the art and spam a ton of people with new watches.
I am kinda curious though, because you did make a comic with a white mantis, why would it make you feel horrible at this point?
Have you contacted Help Desk? Who knows, maybe they can make an exception and change your username before they make this option available for everyone, so you don't have to make a new account.
Though.. I don't know what name I'd replace it with LOL
These comments are interesting though. I would definitely like when this feature is implemented that there is a "previously named..." blurb somewhere.
However, there are many personal reasons why I really want a name change, and it's incredibly frustrating that they don't allow it. Granted, they'd probably charge money for it if they could, which would also be rather frustrating.
They're really not doing anyone any favors by dragging these things out.
One of the changes they need ASAP is a search filter system, i'm so tired of seeing things that gross me out but I can't flag them for hiding...it's almost rendering this site unusable for me. i asked them when this was supposed to be implemented and they told me they're "working on it"...
after this long though, are they really?
