School shooting, all the cool kids are doing it!
I'm trying to hold the will to make dark jokes about it but this shit is becoming beyond parody, looks like america's favourite sport is in full swing in Brazil, now disgruntled randos here are also venting their frustration by butchering kids in schools!we are finnaly becoming a first world country!Yay.... 8D
Jokes aside, I'm referring to something that happened few hours ago in a city near my, a dude with a hatchet invaded a day care and attacked the kids like a low budget Michael Myers, 4 kids died and 5 got wounded...altought police says its a isolated incident its already the third in the last weeks,I can see this becoming a fucking trend pretty much like it is in usa but with blades instead of guns, everyone is on alert for copycats now,I normally don't get affected by this kind of stuff but when I saw the photos of the kids who died I cant deny I felt really bad for them, and I specially worry because my mother is a teacher of kindergarten, and she is literally one month away from retiring, to die right now because a angry random loser would be a horribly tragic yet cinematic joke of fate.
And also tying on the same theme, I would not comment anything on the whole thing with the trans shooter in Nashville, school shootings are so common that I dont even keep track of them anymore also because its mostly useless to discuss these things, it all ends in a pseudo intelectual mudfight, but in this case I had to say...THAT WAS EXTREMELY RETARDED!!I get the reasons why people go to this extremes, I was the edgelord bullied kid all dressed in black in middle school, so much so that after the Realengo massacre in 2011 the school staff had their eyes pinned on me, when I was asked if I had any intent of doing somethhing like that I replied with the edgyest shit I ever said "You all dont worth the bullets" (I still cringe every time I remember it. XD) I can understand the pressure of a hateful world upon your shoulders but still, this person gave the rigthard propaganda machine everything they wanted...things were already souring for trans rights and now I have the impression it will get exponentially worse....yay... e_e''
Among all of this what boggles my mind is the repeat of the cycle that happens every time, everyone politizes the fact and shit but nothing ever changes, its almost surreal to the point I dont think we will ever see a real solution for this, no this is not a clever set up to say I have a solution, I dont and I will not smuggly pretend I have, I dont even have a conclusion for this!sorry if you are still reading this. :U
Edit: just in case this don't reach international coverage and anyone think I made this up, here is the article...in portuguese, but its here: https://g1.globo.com/sc/santa-catar.....-vitimas.ghtml

You're talking to an American who gave up after Pulse and only started caring again after Vegas, and the closest mass shooting to happen to me was Highland Park on July 4th, just 40k north of me.
My country has been having these for years, and, yeah, nothing happens; the best we did was banning bump stocks after Vegas. I'm too tried and scared to think about answers at this point.
The US sure exports their best, from Trumpian fascism to this.
I'm just so fucking done with this shit. I'm at the end of my rope.
Lots of these shootings are funded by the feds to push gun control. Criminals don't follow laws, and mentally ill folks don't get checked.
All these shooters have been on watch by the feds who failed to be pre-active.
The FBI would rather spend millions tracking down an NFL athletes stolen jersey (twice), instead of actually dealing with real threats.
Our government is worthless.
They do not care about us.
Not to mention the mental health thing. The vast majority of people with mental health issues will never do anything violent, and it would be impossible and pointless to watch them all. We DO need national red flag laws, though. Those have actually proven effective.
Even I'm being very pro gun myself, I can't handle these moronic arguments. XD
He also Brought up Mexico, and I said the same, as well as reminding him why there is so much gun crime there, as and pointing out where a huge number of the guns there come from.
Yes, I remember seeing something about Mexico gov trying to sue american gun manufacturers because of it, and from what googled the case got dismissed...what a surprise.
Weapons controls only do so much, if someone really wants to shoot a place up they will get a firearm somehow, but restricting guns makes it harder for someone to more casually perform it. But you've got to remove the causes that give people the intention to commit that violence as well: compassionate mental health services, the deconstruction of the need for criminal ventures, political deradicalisation. It's never a one-stop issue it is multi-faceted. Though I'd say a certain demographic has an aversion to any of the 4 mentioned things you can do to help.
Another key root to the problem is the violence and racism that our country was built on from the beginning. The whole thing is a really tough issue.
