Hello fellow gamers! The first draft of the Open RPG Creative (ORC) license has been released. I have been looking at the rough draft and the AxE document that came with it. And I've been discussing it with Lawyers, fellow creatives, and others. This is big for the RPG community as a whole, and it represents a turn in Gaming history. So this means that as a publisher, I can declare certain things as ORC content, like a Sabertoothed Tiger or Cat (Smilodon), I can declare not only the gaming mechanics but the name of the "monster" as well. And other people can use Sabertoothed Cat in their ORC content derivatives for ever.

Don't worry, though, you will be able to designate which is Product Identity (PI) and which is ORC content. So we all win.
