What's this about Smurfs?

Just a thought I had; I'm sure everybody who's ever been at least a little bit interested in the furry community has found sects of it sort of cringey at one point. I want to know if this feeling of embarrassment has waxed or waned for ya'll as the years have gone on.
By asking this question, I'm not trying to pick on furries old or new; I just wanted to gauge the general sympathies of my audience, since I've regularly straddled the fence as far as my "furry" label is concerned. I don't feel like I share the strand of humor or set of interests that many of my contemporaries do, but at the same time, my art does sort of lean into some pretty damning furry stereotypes :p

Sorry, I was just making a joke about how overused "Cringe" is as a term since it seems to suddenly be a noun, adjective, adverb, and about every other type of word in whatever language it came from. Hence why I asked "What's this about Smurfs?"

its a mix, you have some people that are normal people, then you have the few who aren't.
but I already have a low opinion on furries.
one bad furry convention was enough for me. I see it more as a fetish than a fandom. Not to say I don't admire their artwork or craftsmanship.

There people that lust after amicus that are 15 and well…also people attacking in the community due to certain characters being more better or something so I kinda find that cringe

Its a bit of a mix, but it also depends like where exactly and what part of the community.

The political ones maybe, but the ones just enjoying art I don't think so.
