I honestly was a bit disappointed by the finale. Not saying it was bad but they could have drawn it out a bit more.. like make it a full movie length episode.. hour and a half+. That's my only real gripe there that I can talk about without spoilers. XD Couple other things that were a bit.. ehhh.. kinda stupid but I'll let it slide!

Wonder if they will retcon Kirk's death, ST Picard opened the door for his return.

Yeah Shatner pretty much nailed the coffin shut on any cameo, with his comments on the New Star Trek shows.
Though strangely recently made the comment about not wanting a show like ST Picard, but open to returning to the role with the right script, and recently went through the body scan process they use for cgi.
Seemed they implied Kirk was in stasis not just in storage, as is Archer's body. Both Shatner and Bakula have both commented on returning to the franchise recently.

I'll be brutally frank and say I can do with*out* a cameo from either of them.

Guess im part of the minority, but actually like Star Trek Enterprise, it had a weak start but was gettimg good by its 3rd and 4th seasons. It sufered from being on a network that was near bankrupt, and was taken over by a ceo that did not like scifi. It was still no 3 in rating for its time slot. So wouldnt be against an Archer cameo lol.
TOS cameos are past their prime though liked how they used Walter Koenig as a cameo / and tribute to Antoine Yelchin in Picard

Aye, that was a very nice touch. And a reference to Star Trek 4 as well while we're at it.
