Thinking About Patreon & Other Thoughts
I knew for a while that art is something I wanted to be more than just a hobby. I had a lot of interest in animation when I was 11 and only dabbled with it for a little while. I would experiment with taking commissions some time later and see how fun it was drawing people's wacky and creative characters. I'm 26 now and think I'm getting a somewhat better grasp on it all.
I figured college wouldn't suit me, and having seen all the baggage that comes with going, that was probably the better decision for me. Besides, I can learn what I need from home. I just miss out on all the connections that comes with attending.
Having said all that, I still don't really know what direction I wanna go, but that's normal for me. Maybe Patreon/SubscribeStar is something I can think about. I do have several ideas I want to create, but so little time to actually work on them as much as I'd like to. It would make things a lot easier for sure, plus everyone would be getting something out of it. I'll look into it a bit more. I already have a page set up; I just need to make sure that is something I can be comfortable with.
That's my spiel. Thanks for reading. Let me know what you think if you want. I'll keep drawing no matter what. Byeee~

Also, as someone who went to uni, got a degree and got no job or connections out of it, I'm cheerleading in your corner on the "maybe I don't need college" side of things. It was a fun life experience in many ways sure, but I dare say I could have landed my current career as a full time furry writer without my undergraduate degree in Zoology.
Getting my degree and not being able to use it was indeed my fear 🙃 I’d have ended up graduating and going straight to freelance animation work! Might as well cut out the middleman 🫠
