Shattered Horizon

I've been playing a new game lately. No it's not Modern Warfare 2, as much as i'd like to play it i have no moneys. 8..(
Whatever, i found it a week ago, i had seen the banners for the game floating around steam for a couple of days but i didn't really care too much about it, but my curiosity peaked and i proceeded to do some research and oh lord, it was awesome. Actually after just watching the trailer i knew this was something else, so i spent the few riels i was saving for L4D2 and bought it.
I don't regret it a single bit.
As for the game, it is a FPS of course, but with the novelty of being base around zero G, it can be a bit overwhelming at first because you have absolute freedom and you can flank your enemies not only from the sides and behind, but from above and beneath! How cool is that. Yes there's only one weapon, but it's more in the style of the Metroid games, the standard mode is an assault rifle with 60 rounds, you can use a sniper mode which fires 10 rounds at a time, a grenade launcher with 3 types of 'nades and an instant kill melee attack. All feels very balanced and just right.
The story goes like this: In the future the humanity returned to the moon to perform mining activities, but a terrible accident occurred and a good chunk of the poor moon exploded and the remaining debris formed a ring of meteoroids and rocks around the Earth, known as the Arc.
It is now the duty of the International Space Agency's astronauts and scientists trapped in the now destroyed International Space Station to capture the culprits, the guys of the Moon Mining Cooperative. They find themselves at risk of serious charges for their nasty ways, and they won't go without a bloody fight. (I always wanted to say that 8D)
That's pure and unadulterated quality material there. The thing is that game is multiplayer only, so no single player campaigns or stuff like that. But what do you expect for only $19.99.
They say a picture is worth a thousand words so a video must be worth a million. And two videos is worth awesome.

Mind you, the game is very demanding and a "decent" PC is required, the minimum requirements are an Intel Core 2 Duo E6600, NVIDIA GeForce 8800GT, 2GB RAM and Windows Vista or Windows 7. XP is not supported. For AMD and ATI requirements you can check the main website: http://www.shatteredhorizon.com/sup.....erequirements/
AND the best thing is that i have 3 guest passes available, so if anyone is interested tell me and i'll give you a pass for full 3 days of space goodness.
Holy holynness, did i just type all that!? A new record for me. 8D

I would love to play this game, but I don't have the resources. Thanks for pointing it out for me though!
Damn, that looks amazing. I got a machine that's beefy enough to run it, but I don't wanna go stickin' Vista on it. That, and I don't think I have the time or money for a new game. Which is a shame, because otherwise I'd give it a try. Looks like a helluva fun game.
Well maybe some day you'll give it a try, definitely worth checking out.
