Well, well, well... these Transformers movies never stop.

Just seen the latest trailer and it looks like the Michael Bay universe has gone far enough to enter into the Beast Wars age. So... cringe worthy cars. Check. Optimus as one paragraph hero as ever. Check. Bumblebee... being the only good reason to see these flicks. Check. And it does look like we have some survivors of the Beast Wars here and not just some random 'beasts', so to say. The 'official' (?) meeting of the Otimus'es? This has to be awesome. (They do seem to be focusing solely on the big monkey's lines. Probably a wise choice.) Looks like Airazor has survived. Very much approve of that. I saw Cheetor in the lineup. ...potential Scorponok sighting. Erm... guess we had to have the bad with the good, there.
Simply put, it'll be a fun (expectantly dumb) time when it comes to the RedBox dirt cheap movie night... or when someone smuggles it in to YouTube. At movie theater prices... go see Mario Movie... for the third time. ;P
EDIT: Occurs to me that there may be many whom might be nearly clueless about the time of the Beast Wars. So, I'll be brief with an explanation.
These wars were in a time long ago. Back when the notion of using CG in anything was pretty much reserved for the million dollar movies. A time when the flames of the Transformers franchise were merely simmering with hard core fans, already aging past their teen years. A time with a brave company out of Canada pushed forth CG entertainment, even though it was barely ready to be presentable at an affordable rate. Fresh off the concept of cutting their teeth on a indie notion about people that lived inside a PC universe, they were tasked into bringing new life into the TF world. And they went with a sci-fi approach about the classic good Optimus Prime facing off against the evil MegaTron. (There seems to be more than one of both. The series makes that a cannon fact.) Going after a destiny, both forces wind up on a strange world, full of known animals. To which, they used as their base for alternate forms. (Not a Human world. No cars/truck/etc to copy off of.) So, yea. In a manly world about shooting guns and being macho, this show was Furry AF. And borderline adult. (Quote the 'Trap': "I know a place where the servin' bots are walkin' around minus their torso plates." To Optimus's reply of "...what?" That one flew over the heads of the kids like a barber's pair of scissors during a haircut. Come to think of it, there was also the opening shot of the majestic eagle in flight, observing its domain with peaceful silent. Then, unapologetically, all is left is a falling feather as one of the bad guy's fliers gobbles it down in one bite. Uncensored vore. These bots don't run off of unleaded fuel.)
Season one is... pretty much what one should expect. The good and bad guys shoot at one another for reasons. Little plot is evolved. Watch episode one and move on.
But, Season two and past that is where things get moving. Sure. They have some really dumb characters that explain themselves ten times over. Look past that and we got some real gems, too. World building blows up. Plots that get deep-ish. We get sub-plots. Diverse fractions of sides going on. The smart and sexy Blackarachnia. (Black Widows and sexy? That should be a violation of some sort.) And how could I leave out the three part'er episode... where they seemingly compressed six episodes worth of material into it? By Lord... this is one show that needs to be modernized and re-released. Its biggest flaw is that it's kind of hard to look at, these days. They also got experimental with the anti-episode. And that heart breaker episode.
Anyhow, I'm just stating that this show is worth seeking out. Not sure if any streaming services host it or not. Believe there was a DVD set. Just bare witness that season one is super rough.

FA+

I still remember the 'first' Transformers movie. A fine, if somewhat mindless action flick. After all, seeing the sneak preview of those sweet CG car transformations (back then) was really promising stuff. Then, Optimus Prime showed up and said the back story. The whole franchise jumped the shark right there and then. Quite an achievement to go from 'another passable action flick' to 'Oh...Lord, no.' inside a heartbeat.
BUT, going off-topic for a second, when it comes to the worst movie I've ever seen, you can't go any lower than "Paul Blart 2". See, most bad movies have some saving grace to it. "TF5, the Last Knight" had Sir Anthony Hopkins in it (if memory serves proper), and despite his casting being wasted on such a rubbish movie, he was the highlight. (Sir Anthony Hopkins always steals the show in any movie he's in. Sorry Antonio Banderas for him overshadowing you in "Zorro" lol.) "Paul Blart 2" was just painfully rancid that when my mother wanted to take me along to see it, I faked having diarrhea just to hide in the bathroom for 15 minutes so I could get my head back on straight, lol.
Anyways, where can I stream the "Puss In Boots" TV show? :) I'd love to watch it and see the adventures he goes on.
Ahhh... NetFlix. The place to make modern day couch potatoes out of people. I had kind of tuned out from it several months ago. Then went back in a few nights ago. Before I knew it, I had marathoned the entire season of this one cartoon about Elvis and his secret agent life. just couldn't believe what I was seeing in it... nor could I look away.
Thanks to the low price of admission via RedBox, I did see the original Paul Blart. Aside from scenes like mall cops on those two wheeled rides and him eating a candy bar off the floor, I can barely recall a thing. Probably for the best.
Last Knight? Fairly sure I had rented it. Very sure I couldn't tell you much about a thing about it.
I'll have to resubscribe to Netflix to see the Puss in Boots tv show then. x'D I keep avoiding Netflix for whatever reason since I'm subscribed to Disney+ and like that content better (I'm not a rich person lol). But for Puss in Boots tv show, I'll subscribe for at least a month to binge on that.
That said, the original Paul Blart was a terrible spoof of the far better Die Hard movie, but Paul Blart was serviceable and had its genuinely funny moments. So bad it's good. Paul Blart 2 just plain ol' stunk. It undid a lot of the things that made the first movie decent enough and just tossed those in the toilet. The only other thing I remember from the second movie was me thinking "I just wasted 2 hours of my life I'll never get back".
Even worse, my mom LOVED those two movies a lot. I could sit through Paul Blart 1 just fine. Paul Blart 2? I just turned on my laptop and worked on art or music while Mom watched that movie. 🤣 And don't even get me started on how bad "The Zookeeper" was. I'd rather watch "Master of Disguise" than "The Zookeeper", because despite "Master of Disguise" being cringeworthy torture, it doe have its memorable moments (i.e. mostly nightmare fuel LOL). 😂
Now not all of Kevin James' movies were bad. "Here Comes the Boom" had plenty of stupid moments, but overall it was pretty decent popcorn comedy flick (for me at least). It's where I first heard Journey's "Faithfully", and I simply had to learn that on the piano! Amazing song! And the ending fight scenes were wild! And it even had a smidgeon of character growth in the movie. 😂
Zookeeper. Sounds familiar. Must have totally mind blocked a thing about it, though. There's been a lot of 'let's try this' movies from the RedBox that I never bothered to remember, even a day later.
Was just watching some video last night about someone compiling NetFlix data. Turns out they concentrate a lot on America. Other country versions have a fraction of the material. Still, it's got a lot of stuff going in. I'm rather impressed with this Wednesday show... which is a total re-imagining of The Addams Family. Can see why that's gotten the green light for a second season. And it just keeps getting more material, all the time. At the pace I seriously watch television, I may never need another streaming service... paid, at least.
