My Thoughts on the Bluefolf Situation
I've only just returned to Twitter from my fear of missing out on art, and it seems that shit has hit the fan once again. A fursuiter named Bluefolf has found herself on the receiving end of internet trolls and detractors, who have committed actual crimes in the forms of doxxing her, blackmailing her family members, making violent threats against her life, and a bogus defamation campaign. Needless to say, I am disgusted that this type of behavior still continues in the year of our lord 2023. The harsh reality however, the internet is a dangerous place, especially for transgender folk such as Blue.
While I can sympathize with Blue for what she is going through, she brought much of this on herself given the amount of information she divulges on her public Twitter page. It's an unfortunate case of not knowing how to hide your power level on the internet, and now she is paying the worst price of them all. People may argue that this is what happens to those who are "Terminally online," but it's all too common when it just takes one gaffe to start the trolls snowballing.
My advice to her if she reading this; take an indefinite hiatus from Twitter and social media. Focus on loving and improving yourself for as long as possible. If the harassment continues, consider a name change, apply for a Mexican VISA even. I believe that you can dig yourself out of this, and come back stronger proving the haters wrong.
Thanks for listening to my ramble,
