Playing from Home
I'm back to playing from home for the time being. A cold snap and flat tire kept me out of the running last weekend.
Most of my "local" meets are over an hour away and a play date of several hours with two hours of driving in one day is a big check for my body to cash.
I have another suiting event in June, and I may do the same thing I did in March and make it a sleep over at the Hilton. I got a kick out of my last mini vacation want to do it again.
Artist Hunt
I am spending a good bit of time on Furry Telegram keeping in touch with all my local fur frens and a key element in punctuating your posts is stickers. So now I want a sticker version of Charlie and I am choosing what poses / expressions my budget will permit. I hope to find an artist who can work with what I give them to make what I want.
Concept Art
I started drawing again so I can better communicate what I want with my stickers.
I've been doing drills on my sketch pad with a good old #2 pencil and I was able to knock some of the rust off of my drawing skill.
I actually made a color sketch of Charlie drinking coffee as a sticker concept. https://www.furaffinity.net/view/52024571/
Like with my reference sheet and my fur suit sketches, my drawing may be worth a thousand words to a real artist.
I like drawing, but I don't have the Muse to do it as much as I did a few years ago, and the thought of home made stickers just make me cringe.
Funny Old Thing, Life
So I am adjusting as to how I have fun in the fandom and am letting go of things that don't work for me.
I find solo travel far away from home isn't something I'm comfortable with -- as I have no Cavalry to ride to my rescue -- so I may pass on out of state conventions this year.
Never Say Never, but I'm just playing it by ear. If I find a con buddy / traveling companion I will revisit trips farther afield, but that takes time.
Ancillary Interests
I've reactivated my Kindle Unlimited and am doing more recreational reading -- mostly light comedic fiction.
I've added this to my Furry comics and fiction to broaden my horizons and have been watching detective dramas on Prime and Netflix and am revisiting old TV series.
New Interests in Gaming
I am also exploring Cooperative multi player games. I am not great at shooters and I can't even master retro video games, so I want to find some kind of games to do with others online or in VR or both that give me some sense of satisfaction.
I am also fascinated by the Khajiit race in Elder Scrolls Skyrim and am seeing how to play it. There are mods, but that is where I start to get confused, confounded and consternated.
Still a Watcher at Heart
So I continue to watch my core group of Twitch Streamers and still Tweet, but avoid most if not all drama.
I just want to play as a dog and enjoy life.
