Stole this template from a buddy cus i really love questionnaire things like this!!
✩Traditional or digital:
Both for different reasons!
I loveee making colored art and big pieces digitally! I can use so many different techniques that I can't traditionally! I love messing with brushes, effects and lighting!
Traditional allows me to doodle and sketch more! Most of my digital art is usually thumbnailed + sketched traditionally first!
Traditional art is usually how I unwind and allow myself to do messy art and express myself if I need to vent. Plus I love bringing a small a5 sketchbook with me literally everywhere so I can draw absolutely anytime I want!
✩How long have you been drawing:
I feel like me and most artists have been creating art since we were kids lol. I mean I started really liking art when I was a small kid and drew my favorite movie characters. Especially Disney movies and anything animated lol. And then it was my little pony and that *really* got me into art!
✩How many classes have you taken:
I took weekly art classes for about 2 years I think? I couldn't go anymore after the place got shut down but I really liked it there!
I also took 2 years of fashion design when I was 16-17 which influenced my art alot since I had color theory drilled into my skull and did clothing design and anatomy practise for model drawings!
From 2021-2022, I went to art school and specifically learned alot about making comics and it's also where I got way more of a passion for digital art!
✩Favorite/least favorite thing to draw:
I mean, I love drawing furries obviously. Character design is really fun! Exploring kinky themes and making nsfw art is my passion as of late. Gore and body horror is another big one!
As for least favorite, I think it might be backgrounds. I'm slowly warming up to it, but big scenes are something I find sooo frustrating to draw. Also cars and buildings are really frustrating
✩How often do you use references:
Rarely when I'm doing traditional art cus its supposed to just be a silly and loose thing for me unless I'm doing an art study of some kind.
I use more refs for digital pieces because I want them to be more accurate! I'm an avid pinterest user so alot of my refs come from there lol.
I also use refs to study drawings humans specifically because I'm not too good at humans yet
✩How much time do you spend drawing on an average day:
If I'm doing digital, it consumes alot of time, but traditional is really simple so I will usually fill up a page in like 10-30 minutes and I will probably do that throughout the day here and there when I'm bored so it doesn't take up alot of time.
✩Are you confident about your art:
Yes! As of late, I think my art has improved greatly! After art school last year and getting more comfortable with digital, I suddenly let myself explore more in a way I couldn't with traditional! And I definitely started allowing myself to just explore themes I felt too insecure to do before so I feel really happy with my art!
✩Do you make personal art or art for others:
Its been a bit of both lately! If I finish a commission or trade queue, I will focus alot on personal art! But I do take on trades and commissions alot so I think I do a pretty even amount of both
✩Do you do collabs:
Ive done a collab with my bf and I'm working on another one with him right now actually! Aside from that, I've collabed on adoptables with a friend where I sketched and lined a design and let them color it and vice versa!
I probably won't do collabs with other people aside from my bf and close art friends
✩How long does an average piece take:
Like I said, digital takes up alot of my time and I have a tendency to do most of my art in one sitting so it can take up like half of my day. Obviously I'm a bit spoiled on the amount of time I have to work on art because I've been unemployed for like a year and have few friends irl so I've had little to do aside from drawing. Plus I'm an Insomniac so I have alot of time to draw lmao. So a usual lined and colored piece will take about 3 hours and a more rendered/experimental piece can take 5-8 hours!
Traditional is super simple doodles so 5-30 minutes lol
✩Do you draw more today on average, than in the past, or less:
In terms of the amount I'm drawing, I draw less than I used to. I used to fill up sketchbooks in 1-3 weeks for a couple years when I was like 14-15 lmao.
Nowadays, I will fill up maybe 1-2 pages a day and a sketchbook takes 1-3 months to finish.
But at the same time, because of how much time I've had to draw over the last year, I still have been able to put out art on a weekly to daily basis!
✩Do you think you can give art advice to others:
I don't have a demand for it online, but if I did, i'd most likely be very happy to give advice yeah!
✩What are you currently trying to improve upon:
Humans and backgrounds! I want to get better at varying the kind of faces I draw specifically! I can draw humans pretty well, but only like- one kind of face shape yknow. I want more variety!
And I'm always trying to work on improving my backgrounds but it's a slow process
✩Do you like to challenge yourself:
This always depends. I have to kinda motivate myself to do it because if I'm told to do it, I probably won't have fun with it or put as much effort in, but every now and then I'll get a sudden urge to try something I haven't tried before!
✩Are you confident you're improving:
Yes! Even looking at my art from the beginning of this year and last year compared to my current art is insane! I think ive improved alot!
✩Draw more fanart or more original art:
Definitely more original art! I will usually only ever do fanart if it's for my special interests or hyperfixations. The only fanarts I remember doing was LOTS of mlp art because it was my longest and biggest special interest. Untertale was another big one. I had a hyperfixation with deltarune and specifically with spamton for a while in 2021 so I drew him alot lol.
And now it's rammstein which has become literally my biggest special interest since mlp which is really big for me because I didn't think I'd ever have a special interest as big as mlp. I've done some occasional fanart of them which I've usually kept to myself.
But I do focus alot more on original art and original characters because I get to explore different themes that I feel I can't do with fanart
✩Do you feel jealous when you see other art, or inspired:
Of course I do! Who doesn't ahah
I love my own art of course. I have to be my own biggest fan most of the time, but I absolutely get jealous of other artists sometimes, but I try to channel it into inspiration and motivation!
✩Draw in silence or with music:
Music everytime, ALL THE TIME!! I NEED background noise to focus so if it's not music, it's a podcast lol.
Plus, music has been a HUGE influence for my art for years now! I literally have a list of songs I wanna make art inspired by!
✩How many layers do you use (digital):
For a simple colored fullbody, I just have the sketch layer, which I usually delete when I'm satisfied and finished with lining. And then I have a layer for colors and one or two for the background.
For rendering, it can be anywhere between 5-10
✩Which medium do you like most (traditional):
Since I sketch and doodle alot, I usually just like a good gel pen or a bic ballpoint pen!
I do love working with alcohol markers and watercolors/gouache when I have the opportunity to! Pencils has become one of my fave things too lately! I love graphite pencils that you can smudge n stuff it's so fun! I also love brush pens, but theyre not good for doodling lmao.
✩Which medium do you like most (digital):
I use clip studio paint pro for all my digital art and I sometimes doodle in ms paint!
✩How do you start a big piece (traditional):
I usually do a little thumbnail to get the idea down and then I sketch with pencil and either ink and then erase it or I put it over into my art program and finish it there
✩What inspires you to make art and be a better artist:
I want to push my limits and create pieces that really kinda shock people in a good way and get them interested! I also wanna create art for myself obviously and portray parts of myself i usually wouldn't and put my emotions into my pieces!
Anyways I'm about to pass out lmao hope you enjoyed
