How Felix became a fox dragon

Just something I thought of since I wanted to create a backstory for my OC, Felix the Fox Dragon.
He was originally two beings, a fox and a dragon. He was a fox at first before meeting a dragon who was almost dying from a battle, at first both were cautious at first with each other. For Felix the Fox, it was mostly just that it was a dragon.
But eventually seeing as the dragon was still alive, the dragon jsut told him to keep away from seeing his battle tired self. Of course he couldn’t get up, so Felix decided to just give the giant monster some company since he felt he was dying from some unseen battle.
for a while as the dragon was on good terms with Felix the Fox, and the dragon was given some flowers by Felix. Who was thankful for a new friend even though he was dying, even with Felix’s worries. the dragon somehow had little magic left, looking down at the fox.
And both beings looked at each other, the dragon began to chant some words. As if he knew, Felix chanted alongside him, a barrier surrounding the two as the dragon began to disappear and Felix shouted at the dragonic being to not go before the Dragon’s spirit went into his body.
Felix began to feel the pain of change, and soon blacked out from exhaustion.
Only to wake up sometime, thinking it was a bad dream. Only to see as he got up, he was almost as tall as the trees surrounding them. And noticed he was walking on two legs! Eventually he ran to a cliff side waterfall.
where he saw his reflection and saw his new form, he was now half fox and half dragon!
wondering how he was able to become one with a dragon, another dragon landed next to him . And noticed the dragon Felix came into contact with made a forbidden spell to merge with him to keep him safe. So the dragon helped Felix to help him with his new abilities as a Fox Dragon hybrid
