AI generated artwork
Pickles here!
Sorry, I don’t normally rant but this got under my skin and I feel that I need to say something.
Just a friendly reminder that AI generated artwork is NOT allowed on FurAffinity and if you see it on the website be sure to report it immediately! (There’s even a section in the trouble tickets just for AI artwork to make reporting easier too!)
It’s getting really frustrating because I feel like I’ve caught at least one AI generator “artist” every day while I’ve been poking around the website, and some are even trying to sell expensive adoptables that are AI generated. It’s upsetting to think that people are coming to this site trying to get clout or are hoping to make a quick buck off the people in our community and are trying to sell their 2 second “creation” for the same amount as someone who spent hours designing an adoptable.
Here’s a few ways to spot AI artwork:
- If you notice something that looks way too good being sold for way too cheap, you should definitely question it!
- AI generated arts are particularly blurry and have no watermarks. (High quality arts will *usually* have a watermark somewhere)
- Their art pieces are in wildly different art styles
- Look for oddities on the pictures, disproportioned body parts, coloring errors, hands are usually hard for AI generators to figure out, weird features on characters that can’t be defined as anything in particular
If anyone has anything to say or add, feel free to comment below! Thank you for taking the time to hear me out!

As for the ones trying to sell it, I don't feel that should be allowed at all anywhere because the seller isn't doing any work at all, and most often they are training the AIs using other peoples work.
And yeah i definitely agree! It’s just kind of a slap to the face when people have worked so hard to hone their craft and then the machine they’re using to copy that work is using stolen information straight from the artists themselves
This is from the user upload policy agreement:
“ Content made using AI, machine learning, or similar generators is not allowed, including derivative works created from it (e.g. stories, audio, backgrounds, paint-overs, using one's own content to generate new content). “
Even if you use your own content to create the AI art, the AI generator is still using someone else’s work in order to modify your picture! C:
That can be found in the support tab at the top of the screen!
I made a whole album of my oc Shayla.. wish i could show it haha
“AI”. I mean they are technically telling us that the pictures are AI, but I don’t think any AI should be posed here. How do I report them?
And I definitely agree with your stand on them, for one; my personal skill as an image artist is... lacking,
Second, it is clear there is some "source" the AI use, and which means there is a good chance the root images belong to someone else on the less scrupulous sites.
Third, if I make profit on something, I want to do so on my own merit. Preferably through my writing.
What’s a shame is that AI artwork *could* be a great tool for people, if some people just didnt abuse it!
This is much worse then when I searched, as the following are not AI-factory-produced:
-"YTPMV" (a genre of music, often a remix, using sound effects) by most recent was filled to the brim with ".veg replace shuric scan" by autistic kids. Many of these videos are nearly identical with a video duration of 42-seconds long, whose thumbnail consists of 3 boxes of screens down the middle and 2 others with motion blur. Most of them sounded awful. Thankfully you can exclude most of these by having "-scan" (note the minus symbol) in the search bar.
-"Bad apple midi": 99% of the search clobbered with black midi videos that often sounds horrible, is a remix that don't sound really faithful to the original, or just a repost under a different midi player (same midi file, different midi player or have its instruments swapped etc).
Also music omg. So I like listening to Lofi while I work and YouTube is quickly being overrun with poorly made ai generated lofi which is just looping sounds that’s more grating on the nerves than anything
There’s an upload button at the top of the page, beside “browse” ! Just follow the page and fill out the appropriate information <33 best of luck to you!!
