FA Policy Updates; where to find my art
I have submitted a ticket to determine how much of my art will survive FA's policy changes, but I would realistically expect between 30% and 95% of my gallery to be purged over the coming month. If you are interested in continuing to follow my art, I am active on a TON of other sites! Please follow me on those sites instead:

I reply to all comments and engage in the community on these sites, I do not simply dump my art there. Please leave me comments and say hello :) i will say hello back.
Regardless of the outcome I am not "leaving FA". I am still active on DeviantArt, and of course they are far more restrictive than FA. I just do not post there very frequently, and I will no longer post here very frequently either.

FurryNetwork, Itaku, Newgrounds, Pillowfort and SoFurry are a few sites which have similar policies to FurAffinity. There are also some Mastodon instances which have similar policies (charmeleon is OK, sonic is not)
I'd pick a handful of those to branch out to. ...if you're not already using PostyBirb I strongly recommend learning it as it saves a ton of time
i did somewhat recently join e621 after finding some of my art there
but is it even possible to "follow" a tag?
The rule as written was already "Minors are defined as real or fictional humanoids with a childlike body or younger than 18 years old, and any adolescent animals" so I don't think that changed -- they could always just look at someone's art and say "yeah i know you think that character is 30 years old but we're overriding you"
last thing i'd want is to purge like 90% of my pics and then get banned anyway because i left up a pic of Rocket Raccoon or whatever who's inarguably pretty diminutive and stuff, so yeah. like you said, one strike and you're out, gotta be careful
FA doing changes nobody asked for, while ignoring the changes people actually want.
I'd hate to see be "forced" out, or have to purge nearly all your content. I'm on e621, though not a member. I really hope there's enough backlash against this policy change because it's going to harm this platform and make it worse.
i have like pics from 10-15 years ago, commissions for people who passed away and shit. it's like -- well, i guess i'll have to take down that pic and in 6 months their gallery will probably be nuked too because they had all this pokemon shit in it
obviously the onus isn't on FurAffinity to be a permanent archive of all my friendships and memories, but it's sort of what it became and it's sad for it to become something else
The worst part is if the commit to this it is pandoras box what stops them from banning other things next, like feral, or take a note from the biggest bigots Florida and ban gay artwork

Honestly I would bet good money that it will eventually be something they ban. They will say no now but there are a number of loud voices relating it to the zoophile movement.
at least if i taco the art myself i can preserve the comments and statistics. it's fun to reminisce
Not to mention it’s not properly defined what counts as sexual, would they argue any content containing something that could be defined as a fetish as sexual, feet, vore, ect?
the only really new thing as that they're applying those same rules to pokemon, digimon and other similar characters. ...but if you've had your sexy dwarf foot fetish art in your gallery for 5 years now, i don't think there's anything to worry about.
I don't like how they leave it open for interpretation. Sorta like what ended up happening with this one dude who got his gallery nuked for doing this.. japanese rope art while in a fursuit and it was treated as pornographic (in spite of the fact DeviantArt allows it no problem) but it was that vagueness of the rule that let them act either way. FA needs its "Elon Musk" moment. They focus too much on content moderation policies, not enough on functionality and updated code and features.
in the meantime it's just really hard to judge their intent or the kind of website they're going for

That sums it up nicely. What I think is going on is they are hellbent on banning cub art and are overreacting to the point that the "age" of a fictional character isn't the sole qualifier anymore but also art style now if they deem the character to have "childlike" proportions like pokemon and digimon tend to have.
This site needs an edit button isn't time limited :p
love your arts and ill stick around wherever it ends up leading uwu
It just leaves it 100% open to interpretation to each individual mod.
If one mod doesn't like your work, they can say it's underage, nothing you can do about it.
As you yourself have been experiencing.
I may have to actually start using inkbunny.
It's the only site that won't attack me for having flat chested females.
but if your objection is more "it's all just up to mods" "it's how they interpret it" "anyone can say it's underage" then it's been like that since 2014 or so
But I see this mostly as the way they have it worded, it applies to so much more than JUST pokemon and digimon.
Just really, with how many people I've seen denouncing this change, "These changes were well-received, and based upon additional feedback from our community" is clearly a fucking lie.
I think the biggest problem is the "Yeah if you don't remove it yourself we're gonna ban you"
While as the better option would be "anything posted before a certain date just gets removed"
still would be shit, but at least it's not punishing you for something posted years ago.
just like... yeah. don't punish us for... being on your site for a long time??? please? i feel like it should be the other way around
DO NOT EVER for a SECOND trust Neer or his team.
