I think it might be just a matter of it being worded a little poorly.
I am sure FA staff are not incapable of knowing what really is a minor and what isn't.
I am sure I'll be fine but I am just playing it safe with the notices I've taken.

Hehe oh no, the way they worded it and based on what happened last time... the purpose of this rule is basically to do another witch hunt case where people dictate what art is and isn't allowed. If they "want" to see your art as such, no matter what you say, they will see it as such. Happened to me and because the way I draw large eyes and the proportions "resembling" that of the pokemon protags, even though all my characters are grown.

I wouldn't bother entertaining them on this. The ONLY reason this rule exists is so they can remove art they don't like and encourage bullying again. Nothing about this is about the law or minors or anything cause the rule is creating the illusion of a problem that doesn't exist. Seriously think about it.... "any first stage/chibi pokemon/digimon/characters are automatically considered underage regardless of context"? Why would such a rule need to be incorporated? What cops have swarmed their servers over an assumption?

Hehe plus if anything, your "disclaimer" will just make you look more suspicious in the eyes of the mods. Like I said...best not to bother entertaining them. they WILL see your stuff for what they want to think it is. and your defense will be the proof they need to ban you. It happened to me and several other friends... to the point a mod literally told me to "Change my art style or leave the site."

Furaffinity often gets backlash on EVERYTHING they make an update on. It's pretty unfortunate that even if it's something good, someone out there is going to send them hate mail one way or another.
This site has had it's past of some issues but in the long run I do wish the best for this site.
I love this site a lot and I do not want to be in trouble for something I didn't do, ya know.

You should be alot more concern with the designs of your characters that would be misconstrued as cub or minor art.

I do draw in a cartoony style so I can understand the misinterpretation but all the characters I draw in lewd situations are all adults.

They may be but it doesn't matter. These guys are out for blood. I noticed lately there's an extreme uptick in furries actively looking for targets that draw things they really dislike, likely tied to the rise in LGBTQ people being called groomers. It's all made up, but the bullies are bringing this fight to us and using fear mongering to get us to relent. That's what I often warn people about. If there's no problems, don't pretend the people threatening you or accusing you are in the right. They're the ones trying to use you as a scapegoat.

I feel they are going by the ruling that 'if it looks like a child, they are considered to be a child, regardless of their actual age' - which I feel is a bit too extreme. I mean, I get why they are doing it, but the wording is just too dang vague and may actually be biased against artists.

I am sure things will be fine but I just want to be safe.
I don't want to suddenly be a problem to this site.
I've loved it for years and I would never want to cause any issues, especially when the issue is something I am not in the wrong for.

I can tell the difference between fantasy and reality, I am just making it clear that nothing I draw that's nsfw has children involved. In the context of FA's new upload policy, I want to be safe on the art I post, it's just size difference. If anything I am worried about folks that can't tell the difference between fantasy and reality as well.

Alex buddy this really isn’t worth getting upset about, and I don’t want this to go any further with this because I don’t want to make enemies here.

All I said was I don’t condone art of minors. That doesn’t mean I can’t see difference between a character and an actual person. If someone wants to draw an underage character, they can do that, but I won’t want to see it and I don’t have any reason to call them out as long as they keep it strictly fantasy and it’s not shoved in my face. If people want to be in their fantasies in regards to the art they like, there is no problem with that, as long as they’re not hurting anyone so I can at least say that much.

My main point in what I wrote was that I don’t draw minors. Just wanted to make that clear.

I feel you dude, while there is only one lewd of him (not that he is terribly visible in it.) my character is pretty small too. I'm a bit worried myself.

I am hopeful that things will be okay in the long run.
I am definitely worrying way too much on this but then again I worry way too hard on just about everything.
That's.....kind of a problem of mine.

This is the issue with blanket banning. When something gets banned, fringe/borderline content become increasingly scrutinised and get banned too. The next banned content is the next most 'fringe' content of the previously banned content, so it becomes a domino effect of everything getting banned, making places super vanilla and static.

I see your content and not once have I considered it 'minor' or underaged material. If any, your artworks demonstrate complete maturity that people should see.

To me, the art alone is not a good enough representation if something is under-aged or not, it's just a bunch of pixels on screen; it's the intent of the artist. If moderation is determined by strokes or pixels and not by human input, then I think we're in for an era of excessive censorship.

Anyways, hope you're doing alright. Let's hope this situation finds a solution.

I appreciate your input on this, Jaf. And yeah it is a little frightening thinking about that with more and more things becoming “unacceptable”, so to speak.

I’m sure it’s just a matter of miscommunication, I’d like to think that FA Staff wouldn’t just lay any ban hammers on people who did nothing wrong, if anything, that would hurt the image of FA’s staff, which I am sure they wouldn’t want to do to themselves.

This entire policy is just too confusing to implement. Like I got a lot of ocs that I sincerely doubt FA would think they’re a child. But the fact the FA mods tend to range from stupid to moderately smart scares me. Heck I think dragoneers gallery doesn’t pass the new policy they have. And what am I supposed to do if a pic gets flagged? Delete it? Delete that entire oc? I spent money on that stuff!!8 can’t just throw it away and buy a new design…this is just, utterly STUPID

I won’t deny that there have been a bad past with Furaffinity’s staff with some decisions that have been made over the years since it’s founding (from what I know, I only joined this site on 2018 and I was super new to the community so I must’ve just missed it all). Ive been fairly happy with FA’s staff since I started but everyone’s experience is different. I have some friends that have sent support tickets hoping for an FA Staff member’s aid to no avail, while I didn’t really ever have that problem. FA has been good to me for many reasons and I felt it was appropriate of me to clear the air about my content because I do not want to be a problem and I do not want to lose a site I’ve happily enjoyed for half a decade now.
I just hope that things are explained a bit better in the future.

Sadly yes, she’s leaving FA. She hasn’t had the most pleasant experience with some folks on this site and it got to the point where she now is done. It’s unfortunate but I do support her decision because she’s one of my best friends and FA or not, that’s not gonna change

That's still not gonna change, Era and Seafoam are still her characters and I will respect her decision of not being on FA.
And I will still respect the canon of that between our characters.

Oh yeah of course I can, just as she is allowed to draw mine too.
I am lucky and honored to have gained her trust to be able to draw her characters, of course this is in regards to drawing them in situations that I know she'd enjoy.
