Just In Case - New Upload Policy
General
I am not going to comb through my thousands of uploads to be sure none of them appear "childlike" - all characters in my NSFW works are Adults. Full stop.
Sometimes I draw things toony or with simplistic proportions because it's cute. Sometimes there's size difference. Sometimes they're ancient souls bound inside adorable plushies. They're always still adults.
Just in case something happens to this account here's where else I am, grouped by how much I upload;

FA+

That's how they decided to make the change in the first place, a lot of people complained in there from what I gather.
Not a single person I've seen today has supported it. And the mods on the discord shut down the only thread we could use to talk about it. I'm hoping enough people speak up and they decide not to make the change.
Someone who doesn't like other (perfectly acceptable on FA) content I do and to retaliate they try to get me suspended via "childlike" characters / sizes according to the new policy. It's a weird grey area that leaves too much room for interpretation.
Hopefully the pushback will make them drop the rule altogether, but we'll see.
This is ridiculous. They were already bad enough on the topic.
More and more often i'm finding artists slap the 'all characters are 18+' sticker on their social media and then draw childlike bodies as if no one is going to call them on it. Not just chibies or cute, but just straight up kid shaped. As a parent of a now-adult, it insults my intelligence that they think they can pretend it wasn't meant to be CP hiding in plain sight. And I think that's what this rule is trying to come down on. I've also seen a lot of arguments around species that are meant to look childlike but could be any age - Final Fantasy has one, bunch of other games. And I gotta ask myself, if they all look like kids, why did someone pick them for an NSFW OC? It just doesn't track. So i'ma let the haters hate and keep my fingers crossed for you and other artists who work so hard to keep cute & adult working together.
*DING DING DING DING!!*
Our most well-known change removed the classic “1000 year old loli vampire” loophole...
That right there is the entire crux of the matter.
I do agree with Sik, though. Regarding how vague the rules seem to be? They've updated the posting to clarify things a bit, so we'll have to see how it all works out.
See, that's what seems to keep getting lost in the monkeydust that's being flung all over the place. FA isn't talking about small characters in general. You can draw cubs all you want. You can do Marci McAdam diaper art until the cows come home. Kobolds, babies, infants, youngsters, kids, Pokemon, Digimon, puppies, kittens, hatchlings: all open and free to draw and post as much as you like.
This part of the update makes it pretty clear what they're targeting:
...who have childlike body proportions or appear as adolescent animals will be treated as any other when in the presence of sexual activity, sexual objects, nudity, or fetishized in a sexual way.
I would wager you could even create art of adult furries taking a bath with an infant, so long as neither of them have a boner or are in a sexual situation.
But other than that, even with the most recent update, it would benefit from further clarification.

and this
https://www.furaffinity.net/view/51681864/
have been confirmed by mods to be against policy, the artist asked them directly.
Not my kind of content, but a friend linked me to their page to show just how stupid this policy is.
Clearly the rule and the strictness of the wording is stressing out some legitimate artists like LustyLamb here, but for people like the one you linked who actively draw cub and want to push the bounds of what they can get away with, i have no sympathy.
If this policy update had never been made, there's not a single person that would ever have been able to say those were remotely close to so-called cub art.
I'd also say that there's a great deal of stuff that Lamb's done that could also get hit by this asinine policy, and I applaud their decision to keep posting what they do.
I don't like cub art. It has no place on FA.
But as has been said by others here... this whole thing has been a solution in search of a problem.
This is a furry site. There's not a person on this website that doesn't know what Yoshi is, or what Koopas are. Who hasn't seen them. Same with the pokemon. Adult pokemon are drawn exactly like that.
Just by being on this site, you HAVE context, so it can't be taken OUT of context. So your argument doesn't hold any water.
I mean if we're going to apply real world morality to art, there are tons of things that shouldn't be allowed on the site. If they don't want to host that kind of art, that's their call as the host, but be honest about it, it's not about creating a "safe space", it just icks them out.
I don't support pedo stuff, the vagueness and hypocrisy is just infuriating. Who is this protecting exactly, and is it worth harming "legitimate" artists over?
Smells like 'groomer-panic' all over to me, but eesh. :x
Unless there's a HUGE mass migration I probably will never use it. Cub makes me incredibly uncomfortable and that's what the site is "known for" despite the filters. So I'd rather it not be my main gallery.
I hate subscription services on principle so no FA+ to cancel to drop the bottom line, but it's real sad to see a site I've used in some form for over a decade drop the ball so hard. Even more so than some of than a lot of the other decisions they've made.
But for anybody else who reads this, I'm not sure I'd bother going to the discord thread now, they're planning on closing it at 12:00 AM (EST) on Wednesday and it doesn't look like they're gonna reverse the rule.
