For those who don't check the top bar, FA has implemented a new policy effectively banning sexualized depictions of neotenous characters.

There's already been reports of Avali falling afoul of the rule in principle because they are, by design, neotenous and moe (At least they are in canon depictions. Some of the fan art strays pretty far from that). And, while 'neer reassures us that they will not go after races or characters that are adult but cute by design, that is not the reality on the ground of people who've asked FA Staff if their characters would pass muster, and been told they would be removed after the policy goes into effect.
As someone who prefers cutesy designs, created a neotenous looking race, has an avatar that might be read as underaged (She is not, though she is an example of the 3,000 year old vampire loli trope) and wanted to branch into more 'adult' art, this is pretty concerning news, and depending how it's implementation pans out I might be in the market for a new gallery site.
On a side note last month I doubled down on art studies, with the intent of going into finally going into commissions... and then I broke the 5th metacarpal in my right hand so I can't draw probably for a month or more

So as long people don't draw them with the body of a toddler + huge heads. You will be fine.
they need to handle this better tbh, that set of tweets in your link gives me some hope but i'm very apprehensive.
I do understand the anxiety of the innocent artists that fears getting false positives tho. And that's valid too.
That was posted because I asked that the document they are working on must have visual guides. And then that was posted in response, that the document will have visual guides, etc. But they stated a lot of times that it isn't the final resolution and that the document is still being worked, and that they are still taking feedback of what is being mentioned.
Also that same admin already apologized lots of times that they shouldn't have said or posted what's been shown on those screenshots, since there is still a lot to discuss and that her comments won't be reflected as the final result of the document stating the guidelines. (but yeah, of course nobody takes screenshots about that :3)

Or they can just admit they did a mistake and won't be repeating it and will wait for the rest of the team and the higher ups to come with something official. Which has been done, and repeated a lot of times.
I also agree they should have thought it twice before posting something so poorly written. Luffy is the admin that gets closer contact with the community in general, and of course what she said won't be helping to the problem.
A lot of users leaving and never returning will slowly kill the site however as well as the drama that unfolded over this. There's a lot of drama about this and walking this back would be a wise idea but if that's not an option, then Luffy voluntarily giving up her position would be a second position because much of the ire is on her currently.
One of the factors that causes that , is that their staff is way worse, slow and blind there and here, you can easily ban avoid in that site without concequences.

I would draw over it, but it would be disrespectful towards the artist, and also posting nsfw in public spaces like journals isnt a good idea (and it's against the current ToS)
And yeh, I agree that the rule is poorly written and they should clarify that external factors are being taken in count , since it have been a thing for a long time. For example, if you tagged your nsfw as cub in other site, and the same art is posted here, it will affect your account here.
And from what I have reported (obvious cp), yes, i can confirm external factors are taken in count.
Not to mention Sciggles comment they quickly deleted telling everyone that they're the ones in an echo chamber. It be here below.

The more I read about this, the less sympathetic I am of the staff and I'm a guy who is on the fence with them as is
In any case, hope your wrist recovers. Be sure to follow any guidelines they give you on hand exercises. And keep us posted if you find any new gallery sites to set up on!
