Vague rules will be applied vaguely, with as much justification as they were written with. That is to say, none.

Nobody (or at least an extremely small few) who consumes or produces the content in question is even on this site anymore, since due to similar policy updates in the past, they've all moved over to sites that were specifically created to be in opposition of said policies.

It really depends on how the moderators feel on a given day, as none of these moral panics are based off anything objective or real. That's why witch hunts are scary: Everyone can become a target.

The FA mods are basically feeding into a right wing authoritarian moral panic, and they're doing it about fictional characters, art drawn on paper. So there is no victim involved, and thus no crime to begin with, and no objective standard by which a guilty action can even be established.

Even what's SFW or NSFW becomes whatever the FA mods want it to be, and can change on a whim. Making the rules less vague wont help with this, either, because we're dealing with an irrational moral panic.

If some mod takes issue with you or something you made, there's no recourse regardless of whether you actually broke the rules or not. Forgetting that the rules are arbitrary and being forced on us without consent to begin with, even if you didn't break the rules, it doesn't matter. Because the panic isn't based on truth, it's based on power.

In the USA, these moral panics and scares have been around since before I was born, so I've had more than enough time to understand how they work: The whole point of them is to bypass any kind of moral or legal standards based on rationality or objectivity, and just burn witches.

It's basically a bunch of authoritarians who can't win an argument, and can't convince the rest of society to agree with their authoritarianism... So they bypass the various systems of law and order set up under liberal principles, by whipping everyone up emotionally and creating a scared, panicked mob that they can lead around against their political opponents.

Previously what I would tell you is to stop associating with anyone that shows authoritarian or conservative behavior... Cutting off and isolating people with authoritarian tendencies and moral puritanism typically makes it hard for them to hurt you.

Increases in crime are caused by a breakdown in the social franchise and social contract. Crime rates have a lot of causes, and "left wing politics" doesn't accurately describe any of them. Crime rates go up when poverty goes up, when incompatible cultures and ideologies clash, when large groups of people are disenfranchised and suffering, and in general when people have things forced upon them against their consent. The result of this is that a malfunctioning police apparatus itself can cause crime to go up, causing a vicious, self feeding cycle to occur.

Crime rates go up when people begin to loose faith in the established society, and begin questioning the validity of the established order. This happens as a result of the institutions that have power and influence over them failing to act in the common interest, especially if they're instead exploiting or suppressing them.

One of the first signs that this is happening is when the public begins to view the police and military as aggressors rather than protectors, in effect the police begin to function like an occupying army, and no amount of "tougher on crime" will fix this. It will only accelerate the conflict, make tougher criminals and explode the prison population, which is precisely what the right wing has been causing to happen in the USA for decades.

The western capitalist standard is collapsing in on itself, our Berlin wall is in the process of falling, and capitalism is on the same path as the authoritarian branches of communism, such as the USSR and Mao's China. Capitalists do all the same things as Tankies, they're just not honest about it, and manage to time and time again push the blame for their horrible policy onto the left, sometimes to the point where they create actual leftists that behave as viciously and feudally as capitalists.
