Nice to meet you.
[ Question for those who live in North or South America and have imported dolls or Plush ]
Did the goods arrive safely?
Have they ever been damaged by customs or other authorities?
That's been a big problem for me with shipping.😔

Mine were always wrapped in tons of bubble wrap and cushioned by spare papers.
They also put fragile on the outside as well, if I remember. But if they're that large, I imagine most people would be extremely careful with them.
It would be kind of like being shipped a gaming chair or expensive electronic in comparison, also which I've done.
But getting insurance and tracking on such custom, well made pieces should also be a necessity!
I've had a few experiences come in, and it sounds like the US is the least of my worries.
My piece is light, even with the internal skeleton, so I think I can send it at 7-8 kg, and if I pack it well, it should be able to withstand the shock.
The problem is shipping to South America.
It seems that if there is even the slightest distrust at customs, they will cut me open with a knife.
If it is just a plush with cotton in it, there may be no problem even if it is CT scanned, but if it has a skeleton in it like my work, I have a feeling that they will be suspicious of it.
I have also heard stories of theft during shipping after arriving in the country.
I've ordered from South America once in art and it never arrived. It was either stolen or lost. The artist made me a compensation piece and it arrived bent all to hell and ruined. : (
But yes, I agree because your work has skeleton work it's very high risk to ship there because they will open the package at customs if it's CT scanned...
And because they are large, even if not heavy, they probably will scan it. A couple of my friends have ordered from South America and their package came smashed as well.
I'm sorry I don't have more input because I do not live there. I only have my small experiences with ordering from artists from South America.
I've ordered plenty from all over the world from Europe, to Canada to even Japan, but I've only ever had issues from South America and I'm not sure why.
I do hope someone can give more insight! I absolutely love your work, you're so skilled and each creation is a masterpiece.
I too would be weary of your creations facing the possibility of getting ruined in shipping!
It is really helpful.
There seems to be very few problems sending them to other countries around the world, with the exception of South America.
The reason for the delay in commissions was due to shipping and safety issues.
We have the most inquiries from the U.S., but as long as it is safe, we will be able to start accepting them soon.
For the time being, it seems that we will not be able to accept from South America until we find a better way.
One time, a friend from Europe sent me a gift and the package arrived wrecked and missing items.
Customs in South America can give you a headache. It's a shame.
I'm getting information from various people, but all are reporting trouble.
My work seems to be at higher risk of theft or damage because of the large and conspicuous box and the special contents of the package.
I cannot accept commissions as long as I cannot safely send them to Central and South America.
Commissions from the U.S. seem to be accepted with no problem.
I have shipped to South America however, and often my items do not reach customers, sad to say =\
It seems that most people who have sent things to South America have experienced some kind of trouble.
Doll items seem to be more prone to theft and damage due to the large and expensive boxes.
If this happens, the damage to both the recipient and yourself is great, so it seems that the countries you can ship to are limited.
Most of you who live in the US say you are fine.
Those who live in Mexico also said they are fine.
Central and South America don't seem to have any problems with items sent from there, but I feel that there are so many problems when sending them to the other side.
I have seen a number of comments from people who have had theirs damaged or stolen.
I am not prejudiced against the country or the people, but from the multiple reports, it seems there is an unbelievable amount of trouble.
In order to avoid disappointing those who are looking forward to the arrival of their commissioned works, I think it would be better for me to decide which countries I can accept commissions from.
Reports from the U.S. seem to be arriving safely, even if it took some time.
I too do not see any problem with shipping to the US.
I am still gathering information from FA and Twitter, but it seems that shipping to Central and South America is very risky.
I could make a contract with no insurance and no liability on my part in case of damage or theft, but that is not my intention.
I would prefer to have a policy of not accepting commissions from that region if it causes such discomfort.
I wish there was someone or a company that could come in and send me safely and securely along the way.
