NOT Too Short for FA? (Support Ticket Update)
I finally heard back on the support ticket I filed Friday afternoon. And as promised, I'm going to share what I have been told. I have linked the following NSFW pics from my gallery and asked if any of these constituted a 'childlike' character:

https://www.furaffinity.net/view/43321510/
The last one was of particular concern, because rookie Digimon were given as an example of things that would violate the policy, and Impmon was mentioned specifically by name. And I have drawn them relatively 'on model.' However, to my surprise, I was told that none of these pics would be in violation of the policy going forward, including the Digimon. Disappointingly, I wasn't given much information as to what sort of metric was used to determine this. Just that 'small and shortstack adults do not violate the policy.'
However, I also shared these pics of the skunk version of Avery I've been drawing whenever 'Skunktember' rolls around:

I was REALLY WORRIED about these, because he is drawn as a skunk with his usual short proportions, and is depicted with another 'full sized' skunk. Along with these pictures, I provided a pic of his usual appearance and explained the context of the situation. And I was told that these WOULD HAVE BEEN in violation of the policy, but were saved by one detail. Do you know what they said?
Muscle definition.
That's it. That was the determining factor that made these pics okay. They followed up to say that 'muscle definition' IS NOT the sole factor in what constitutes a 'childlike appearance' and that context and art style is also taken into consideration. But that is something new I learned: muscle definition helps. They didn't really explain anything else, which is disappointing to say the least. I was hoping to learn more about their guidelines and decision making process than that. I HAVE asked for further clarification into the decision making process, and if I receive any I will share it in another journal. But it took nearly a week to get this response so we'll see when and if that happens.
So what does this development mean? Ultimately, my plans remain unchanged except for the fact that I'm probably NOT going to have to delete anything from my gallery come July 1st. But this whole situation still makes me uneasy, as the only thing that made those pics alright was Avery not skipping leg day lmao. What if I spent a little less time detailing his legs? I'd have to delete those pics. This is shaky ground I stand on and I can't be worrying about stuff like this while I'm trying to make a living here.
I will definitely start posting on Weasyl again, and I will also be taking a look at SoFurry, Itaku, CoHost, and potentially Newgrounds as additional platforms to post on. I have prepared a Linktree page which will contain every site you'll be able to find my work. I am working on a centralized method for handling commissions, as I can't be checking a bunch of separate platforms for correspondence. A link to this will also be added to Linktree once in order. I will post my Linktree below and I will give further announcements as I decide on other platforms to add and once my new commission system is in place. Thank you for your patience in this trying time and hang in there everybody!

Itaku Is kinda shady and only really works if you're an artist. If you're a writer like me, there's not a big reason to make an account.
I really hope people leave FA and stay gone. Maybe they'll learn a bit to be more concise?
Anybody with any common sense could tell that Avery is a short, cute adult.
These.
Furs.
EXIST.
I don't really have anything violating myself or close to it, but this whole mess could've been avoided if they ACTUALLY THOUGHT THIS THROUGH.
I will definitely be setting up an account on SoFurry, just have a lot of things I'm having to manage with these changes. Will post further journals as the situation develops!
But then, why would the lower pictures be bannable if there were no muscle lines yet the impmon one gets a pass? Is the Imp/Gazimon one somehow more SFW? Is it because Impmon and Gazimon are equivalent size? Because it's harder to see what Gazimon is rocking in his briefs compared to Avery? Because Avery is seemingly running away or being strapped down potentially dubious in his agreement?
Each clarification always seems to just give me more questions ;_;
Skunky Avery is drawn very similar to the digimon in the other pic, but they aren't depicted with any taller characters, let alone ones of the same species? Now, if I had them getting pushed around by some bigger digimon then maybe that might have been additional cause for concern? It's a lot to wonder about. And I kinda hate this 'walking on eggshells' feeling I now have.
as I read this as: If we like your artwork then you won't be banned. but we will be as vague as possible to the people this effects so we can boot those who we don't want on our site through ridiculous rules.
Glad you cleared the bar but it's definitely a moving one.
And I think SoFurry and FurryNetwork are the best alternative options to FA, despite SoFurry tends to fall often
And both interfaces are good
