Hello everyone,
This will be short. In the background of my life, I've cared for a cat. Her name was Nikki and she's been with my family since she was two weeks old. I've had more than a decade of fun with her, good memories, great laughter, cuddles, and comfort during hard times. She's made it well past 15 years old, and she's lived a full life.
Her life passed peacefully last night. I will need time to process this loss so if I am silent forgive me. You are welcome to message me if you wish, but if I'm late to reply I wanted to let you all know. She was loved. I didn't know it yesterday but I spent that whole day beside her. I helped her sleep in the sun one last time and she purred for hours for me. We watched YouTube together, I told her I'll always love her, and helped her move as much as she wanted. She had a fairy tale ending and it helps the healing process.
I love you all. I always will. I won't give up writing anytime soon. Moments like this need time in silence to process the news and I'm thankful to you all for this. Perhaps I'll write but mainly for myself as I grieve the loss.
I am always there for you all too. There will be good news soon, but for now I rest and take stock of it all. I'll write when it's right.
