Something about InkBlot
I just needed to vent a lil. This is grinding my gears, tbh. & I would like to know if somebody had this similar problem or another & how they dealt with them.
It's the very first time something happens to them & I do not understand why they're behaving like this. I must mention I don't know anyone from the team.
This is about the site InkBlot.
First of all, when I saw InkBlot for the first time as an alternative gallery, I found it as a refreshing & great new site to keep posting my work, so I created an account there & I waited a bit to start posting my stuff there. I started then to post things in InkBlot when the childish Musk started with his shitshow on Twitter. I remember reading their ToS & I didn't have any problem posting +18 works with the tags "NSFW", "Adult", "+18". I don't know if they updated their ToS or something time later, but looks like they prohibited using those tags & asked to use more specific tags. Probably it was my mistake not checking the updates (I have lots of things going on, it's normal to forget something).
My bad was that at the time of adding the CW words (the past weeks), the page itself didn't allow me to use those tags, but since the site is still with lots of bugs I just thought that probably it was another bug & that they'd solve it. I didn't think it was bad, since you know, "NSFW", "Adult", etc, are more generic tags, I find them even better, & they're always the ones I use. Again, as I thought it was a bug, I just "changed" the tags "NSFVV", "N4de", etc. It was stupid, I know. But I never did it on purpose to violate any rules.
So... The next day after my b-day, I received an email from InkBlot saying that the tags I was using were prohibited, that I violated the ToS so they decided to suspend my account. I understand that I made a mistake & totally accept it, but... Suspending my account without giving me a warning to fix it? They suspended my account so easily without telling me anything about this.
I tried to contact them since then, & they aren't answering my messages. Emails or tweets, none of them.
Dunno, I really liked InkBlot plans, & I would continue using it (if ofc they don't suspend my account) but after this, I can't see them in such a positive light. What is angering me is precisely THIS, that they didn't warn me before taking this action & the lack of communication. As an update, yesterday I @ them on Twitter & they apparently ignored it.
I just want to talk with them & fix this. As an artist this is not good for me having suspended an account where I post my work, & not having the security they will give it back to me, since they're not responding to my messages.

This isn't me hating on InkBlot, I think in concept it's a great idea, just with the staff and moderators being as inexperienced as they are with dealing with people (with the scale they ballooned to rapidly between many other art hosting sites shooting themselves in the collective foot at the same time) they don't know how to approach a situation as this; where you as a user genuinely didn't know and is trying to do the right thing by their ToS.
I've been keeping an eye on InkBlot, but have started slowly migrating over to itaku instead.
"Accepted Content Warnings could be:
Butt, breasts, exposed breasts, feet, hands, insertion, licking, sucking, oral, fluids, ahegao, doggystyle, pin up, torn clothes, lingerie, urine, semen, sweat, stuckage, group, couple, threesome, orgy, implied sex, swearing, blood, wounds, punching, strangling, choking, crushing, tickling, teratophilia, furry, rabbit, alien, monster, werewolf... And many more."
So, -honestly- I don't consider I committed a huge crime. Following their rules I made a mistake, okay. Their website, their rules. But I do not understand the gravity of the situation to reach the level of suspending my account without any kind of warning. There's no excuse to now ignoring my messages, my tries to reach them to solve this issue. That's not professional, that's not serious. That's not fair. Especially because in the same email where they're saying to me that my account is suspended, they ask me to contact them to "confirm the content of the email", otherwise, if they don't receive any response in 14-15 days, the suspension goes forward. So... Wth?
Actually the only way I had to reach them (& was completely useless) was by somebody @ them. & even that, they didn't reach me but the person who did that. So I don't know what to think about this.
I don't know, I'm completely baffled by the way they're behaving.
Let's see what happens, but they're losing points going this way. I really liked to try InkBlot & stay there for a while & see how things go, but I guess I will have to try other pages. I've heard about Itaku precisely, as well as ArtFol, Cohost, Pillowfort & Cara.app. Too many sites tho.
Anyways, thank you for leaving a comment & your opinion!
