itaku is gaining popularity because of the policy changes, would you consider making one?

Not even sure Itaku is even a good alternative, I've heard stuff about it being restrictive as well in terms of what you can upload. Might wanna be careful in there.

It's sad people have to even look for alternatives in this messy situation. Most don't have the traction and popularity to be a good one. Inkbunny might be ok but it's still not the best and still has the reputation for accepting themes and kinks that are unsavory to most.

Itaku is a perfectly fine alternative. A ton of my art breaks FA's new stupid rules and an Itaku admin follows me- I haven't had any trouble uploading any content.

Not as free as some other sites in terms of what you can post, but sure as all hell more sensible than here.

I keep hearing people saying they've heard things about itaku's policies being restrictive, but have never heard exactly what or gotten a source. Can you enlighten me? The only thing I really notice on their rules page is that they are particular about keeping it to art only (like no photography), and to keep filesizes small. (Probably because they barely have enough funds to keep the site up, heh. It's been down several times since this whole FA debacle due to high volume.)

It used to be true sometime last year that they were going back and forth on their rulings but I've since looked over their terms and policies and it seems very promising to me. I've heard multiple times about the terms as well being restrictive or strange but I think it's old news by now

Hopefully you let us know if you do make a itaku. Thinking about moving there myself.

Alot of artists are going to sofurry inkbunny and itaku. You could also make a telegram channel which is makes tieasier to show multiple works at once, it a popualr alternative because unlike discord telegram basically lets you upload whatever you want,.

I would recommend Weasyl as a more stable alternative to Itaku, which has unstable funding and could crash under the weight of everyone moving there. Both are worth setting up on with Postybirb though.

Agree with this. Itaku is very promising but it's gone down several times in the past few weeks just due to high volume. Weasyl's been around for like 10 years and is a decent gallery site.

I would be willing to subscribe to their patreon in order to try and contribute. Their format appeals a lot more to me so I'd like to see them get support and be sustainable

I hope you'll leave your FA account open so we can always use it to find where you've gone in case, something happens to Twitter because it's not looking good for that site.

Same. I’m keeping business as usual until my ticket comes back but considering even narse was told a ton of his pics had to be taken down I’m not very hopeful. Itaku is cool, and it’s getting chattier by the day if you’re considering it.

I really hate to be looking for an alternate platform though. Crazy times.

I made my Itaku account last year just in case so I have the name reserved. I'll take my time in setting it up eventually since it seems neat. I know what you mean though it's pretty rough that it turned out like this. Nice hearing from you again also

What they did to Narse should be the biggest red flag about what they're actually planning to do.

I feel you, would never fault you for doing what's best for you. I don't know if Twitter is really the best for art considering their own issues and I don't know anything about a lot of the other alternatives people talk about because I'm not on them but I'll follow you on twitter if you decide to stick with it.

SoFurry also allows art, and does a far better job with art than with stories, imo.

You should join Inkbunny or SoFurry.

Telegram channels are an option but they crunch everything down to a 1000px jpg file unless you upload as a file. Itaku's nice for the upload resolution, or e621. Twitter as a gallery is terrible.

Without a doubt this is an incredibly sad new, I am very sad by your departure because your art has always been and still is inspiring to me, one of your arts was one of the first I saw before becoming a furry (and as incredible as it may seem... the name of the art is "Inspiration" a commission that you had made in the past), I was going through one of the most difficult moments in my life, having lost faith in my art, my work and in writing, but I was able to find myself again thanks to a group of talented and passionate artists and writes showing me that we all have our own spark and revitalizing my passion for art and writing again. Roy you were one of them, I will always be grateful for all those years of inspiration your art has given me and I wish you the best.

I made a Mastodon account to replace Twitter, and a PixelFed gallery to host some art, maybe that would suit you as well? Good luck with all that bullshit new rules :/
