Noticed a few of those types myself, or even people who stop doing art and just post bigoted right wing political rants. A couple of them have been permabanned for bigoted content recently.

I thought those were called "Dramawhores".

There are all kinds of drama whores. These folks are more like trolls or just political extremists who post hateful propaganda.

Yeah, or post lazy arse film reviews in their journals trying to see who can parrot the most uses of appropriated terms they cannot define.

I especially hat those.

Tbh, I haven't really noticed it. Maybe I'm just not looking hard enough.

But I am aware of people who act like that. For example, (super star cannibal) Shia Labeouf lost relevance in Hollywood by the mid 2010s. So he spent 2016 and 2017 jumping on the "Orange man bad" train just to get attention and become relevant again. (Not defending the orange btw. I hate him as well.)

Maybe he was sincere. But I'm pretty sure a multimillion dollar celebrity would probably be more interested in staying socially relevant. Especially since I don't think he was ever political before 2017. TBH, other super rich celebrities like Jimmy Kimmel based their entire career in the late 2010s on Trump bashing just to stay socially relevant.

Point is. It wouldn't surprise me to see old irrelevant furry artists making political pieces to find relevancy in the fandom because multimillion dollar celebrities do the same thing to try and stay the center of attention in society.

I don't know what exactly you're referring to, but I do think I've seen things like it before. It feels harder and harder to trust artists to not be horrible people these days.

Consider yourself lucky then. I run into these people all the time.

It's kinda depressing when you used to like an artist's work for several years, just to see they out of nowhere become a right-winger sewage spiller. :U

Yeah... It is. It really is... Especially when the work appeals so much to you it's hard to let it go.

This is why nowadays I avoid getting attached to any new artist I met , especially those who have that sussy "apolitical" vibe, I dont collab/trade with anyone I dont know alot about ,I'd rather cripple my networking than getting along with people who oppose my existence.

I think this is the ONLY thing I miss twitter, it was an "amazing" platform to get the vibe of people, just few minutes scrolling their follows and retweets and you would know alot about their opinions.

Yeah... I'm trying my best to hold onto my trust for others, since I've been going crazy enough over it. Though it feels like it's only getting harder and letting go of artists who's work I really like is hard as well.

I wish it was much easier to get a feel for people on this site, yeah. Sometimes it's still obvious, but others... I just don't know.
