PSA: Finding deleted art

With the art purge still going on, there's definitely at least a few things that artists you're a fan of have deleted. While it's annoying, that art isn't lost, and there's a couple options to see it again:
https://furarchiver.net/ is what I mainly use for this. Click "Artist search", then put in the username of the artist, simple as that. Unfortunately, to see the descriptions of things, you have to download the entire gallery, and any links they may have had won't be there. This is also missing some particularly old art, and for that your best bet is the next option.
https://iwiftp.yerf.org/ has archives of not just FA stuff, but also e621 and Inkbunny. From the folders on the left, click Furry, Art, Image archives, the site you want, Indexes, then the first letter of the artist's username. This one has descriptions separate from images, so you don't have to download the whole thing, though they're still missing any links they had. The artist list for FA is also incomplete, only going to S, and it's been that way for a long time.

Replace ".html" with "/name", where "name" is the artist's username. This one has just about everything past a certain point. What that point is seems to vary. As of right now though, this site doesn't seem to be working.
Better than nothing, right? Hope this helps. And if it's still not enough, feel free to comment a description of the art you're looking for. Someone might still recognize it from that.

FA+

after a week of searching, fruitless endeavors on the Wayback Machine, and gaslighting myself into thinking maybe the artist I was looking up wasn't the one who had originally created the comic.
Finally. I've found it.
As for actual necessity, maybe I have too much time on my hands if this consumed the better portion of my week, but finally I no longer have that nagging feeling in the back of my head. Always feeling Gaslit by this site. Always feeling disappointed and sad when artists delete their art, especially when it's my favorites which always seems to happen.
And that's not even to speak of the other sites that only had 12 pages of the comic I was looking for when I KnEW there were fifteen.
I probably could have gone my whole life without seeing that art again but I feel like I really needed this win thank you for being like the third search result on google.
I'm sure in a day I'm going to look back on this frustration and elation fueled comment and feel embarrassed but today I just feel victory
That being said, now I'm on a quest to try and find out the username of one artist who just nuked their whole account like five years ago, with only the knowledge that they started a new account under a new name and sona (I recognized their art style immediately). Wish me luck!
And the “smoking gun”? They Just Nuked Their Art Again. Their account is still up but like three quarters of their gallery disappeared a few weeks/months ago.
I’ve been looking for a comic that I’m like 95% sure it was them who drew it involving an armadillo sona and kangaroo sona.
but between them nuking their art gallery twice, and never having made any comment on it
and oh god, also the fact that it's fetish art and I'm some random person on the internet whose never gone through the mortifying process of posting my artwork for other people to see
I don't think all the anonymity in the world can quell that anxiety.
Maybe they asked e621 to remove the stuff they made? I'm pretty sure that's something they can do there.
I did find something that fits the description you gave, but with you already having checked e621, I'm not certain it's the one. Would that dog happen to have been purple?

It was a Glaceon pic by kubuss, btw
Regarding your other comment: Sometime before this was posted, FA had changed one of their policies so NSFW art of underaged characters isn't allowed (Good on them IMO), but that also includes "child-like" characters, which includes things like Digimon and the first forms of Pokemon despite those canonically being able to be any age. An enormous amount of artists purged art that they were worried would be an issue with that new policy, even when it pretty clearly wouldn't be, and at least one artist even left this site entirely.
