I know about 200 different artists who have just disappeared from the "light" internet forever....
As they post no where else but twitter, invite only telegram, or behind paywalls that as a "disabled individual" I will NEVER BE ABLE TO AFFORD on a regular basis. (Not with Ozempec being out of pocket on ODSP.)
Like I said before my diabetus journal; the Ontario Family Court banned me from twitter in 2008 so I cannot make an identifying account on there in any way. I was causing too much "estoppel" last time; and it was decided that if i didn't delete my account within 30 days I faced [b]45,000 possible counts of contempt of court: in each case I was "blocking" (by revealing what I did publicly.)
(Be in mind when analyzing this is that estoppel is defined differently in Canadian law than it is in US Law and the case that made the declaration and reasoning were "sealed" at the superior court level. The 'justification" was to protect the confidentiality of said arrangement and "professional reputation" of the plaintiffs.)
Ive been browsing babyfur twitter for well over 14 years without an account because of this... Now it is gone alongside most of my link to the "real fandom", instead of 'shit-faced FA'.
Challenging this order could cost up to 15,000 or more CAD in legal fees and there is no guarantee that the "child support arrangement" hasn't expired, even after all this time (The "dependent adult" was disabled and went to the same institution as I did and I was in "Conflict of Interest" with her father over my own "family support issues". He was a former "ICM caseworker" whom just disappeared under "personnel issues" and I cant find much else out without paying retainer to a liability attorney and a $2000 subpoena in open superior court (not including other fees)..
...This was two years ago that I last investigated.
People say its a cesspool and call-out haven and "toxic"; but you cant even go to a "cubhub" or con, or "be vouched" without a twitter now (at 4 different cons). 75% of the fandom still participates on that website in some way and no one cares or talks to you without a twitter anymore while dissapearing from FA like mad! NOTHING ELSE EVEN HAS THE DENSITY TWITTER HAS!
Its MANDATORY TO HAVE A TWITTER TO BE A BABYFUR!! MUCH LIKE IT WAS TO HAVE A MARCI BADGE 20 YEARS AGO. It was your 'PASS'.... (and I dont even have a badge by a "real" artist anymore. Mine is 20 years old...)
