Just an update (Current Coms, July Opening, etc)

Holy shit we blinked and it was July o.o
Not a bad summer so far. I mean the air quality is terrible but once we get through this week of storms hopefully things will be brighter. If nothing else the muggyness has been great for my mom's garden haha. And we're v lucky to have to a/c so that helps. I'm not doing pumpkins this year, I just didn't have energy/time and with everyone saying to stay inside, I figured maybe next year >>;
Had a short burst of random shit kicking my ass over the weekend. Tripped and messed up my ankle, also carved up my guns n roses tattoo. Dropped my phone in a puddle of water, broke my favorite ITA bag/sunglasses. My new car got a flat tire and I'm really not in a position to buy 4 new tires, shocker.
The worst of all this being my Uncle who went into Hospice 3 weeks ago went July 1st, less than 6 hours after we had seen him. (While he was unrelated, he was also my Dad's best friend/brother. I saw this Aunt and Uncle more than the 'blood ones' as a child. It's not question of them being family.) I'm grateful he didn't linger to the expected 2 months they told us, but now we're all worried about my aunt more than anything.
While I will be taking of July 4th, it's only a half day. I'll be back to work asap because now I'm trying to anticipate what it'll cost to fix my car. Moby's not our only vehicle but he's the only vehicle that works reliably (well he did before this :,) ) Worst case scenario I need 4 new tires. Best case I can get away with a simple patch. I won't know more until I get AAA/contact my mechanic. It's one of those 'Adulting Days are HARD DX' but I'm totally fine. I'm tired but I got through June so I don't see a need to stop working. Right now making art does help me a little bit! It's nice to shut the brain off and line art =w=
I'm still working on YCHs/June's commissions. As of right now, I expect commissions to reopen July 14th. If I get work done faster and can open them sooner, perfect. But I don't want to put out poor quality art either, yanno? Of course I'll put a journal up per usual, and update my header as well! My header is typically always current ^^
I wanna end this journal on a positive note so! IN NOV/DEC IMMA BE AN AUNT!!!!! 8D !!!! My girlfriend's sister is expecting and we're all over the MOON with glee. I've been collecting the MUST HAVE kids books that raised me. This kid will be cultured as hell~ Animalia by Greame Base being my all time favorite! That book is still so special to me. If you any suggestions for memorable kids books you guys loved, let me know! In college when we studied kids books, (what a great class, right!?) a book called 'The Day the Crayons Quit' had just come out. It was such a riot, I'm getting that one too.
