I was saddened early this afternoon to hear that the legendary singer Tony Bennett had passed away from complications from Alzheimer's Disease. Man was born in New York, died in New York, but his fame was global. Though many know his most famous song, "I Left My Heart in San Francisco," he did so much more than that. I rode home from work listening to his collaborations with several artists and I finished it up at my computer with Tony and the legendary Billy Joel's New York State of Mind. You earned that rest, Tony.
the man didnt just sing for crowds, but he performed too.
he'd get on stage and swing his arms and move and sway around the stage like he was lost in the music.
thats why i consider him a performer and not just a typical lounge singing in Vegas.
the music was in his heart and soul and you felt it whenever he was on stage.
He'll be missed.
