Maze of Belmont (7/23 update)
Okay, not much to say here. I mean even less than usual.
I'm a tad preoccupied with searching for a new job. I've applied for a few already and hopefully I'll be able to get interviews soon.
Despite this fact, I finished off three more of the endings for the Twine Game. There are only two more Endings left to make. One of which, I am still unsure how to stage it while the other is one that I a similar staging problem as the other, BUT have ultimately decided to change that particular ending to something, not only easier to draw, but ties into the overall designs within the game a bit better than the other.
Oh and of course, thanks again FoxRidley for the wonderful idea for the Water Elemental's ending. While I can't (easily) show you it, I promise it looks fantastic for what it is.
I have also ultimately decided to include a... well, let's call it a "visual aid". Something you can quickly glance at to help those of us who specialize in visual learning to play the game slightly faster. This might take a tad longer than these last two endings and may not even be implemented for a while AFTER the game is finished (think of it like a sort of 1.5 update), so there will be no delay in that department.
Despite that, I still need to refine each floor to be more streamlined and double-check the written portions of the endings. Hopefully, a decent working version will be ready by (assuming more trouble in the future) the end of next month. I'm very happy to have been working on this project for the last (technically) couple of years. And since the project is coming to an end I'm now in the process of pondering on what my next project will be.

Any vague notions on future projects?
To be honest, I still want to make stories, comics, or maybe another Twine game. Obviously, I don't want something bigger than the project I'm currently working on, but I'm still being drawn to other projects I've had on my back burner for a while. Things like "Gary O-" or other (non-parody) stories I happen to have might be real fun. Or I could get back to working on the story for "Neri Goku" and see if I can legitimately turn that into a game (Twine or VN, either way). Yet both of those are technically bigger projects that may require outside help (especially when it comes to puzzles and specific dialogue). Not sure if that's because I'm craving working on a team OR because I'm being overly ambitious.
I'm not sure if in my current mental state I can ever go back to working on My Master's Will or Werewolf Victims of the Night. Those stories came from a darker side of my mental state. Some things that I've been improving upon means that I can't tap into those parts like I used to.
Though, since you mentioned comic projects, is S.O.B. in the running or are you thinking something new?
If not: t's like being a romance novelist, when you've never so much as kissed a girl before. It falls flat and generic. A sort of "parody of a parody", rather than a real romance that people want to read.
As for S.O.B., it's not out of the question, just out of the practice. If I do get started on it again, the characters certainly wont look the same. Not sure if they'll feel the same. Though now that I'm thinking about it, that's also the problem. The strips were feeling really "samey". It's hard to make a joke every strip when what I want to do is tell their story and have fun practicing poses and techniques.
That said all said, I think I should wait until I've secured a new job before I make any further decisions on the matter. Get to know the schedule and all that jazz.
Actually, one of the reasons I have been hesitant to dive into writing my stories is not really knowing how to make the characters feel like people.
And the job front coming up also makes sense I don’t know what my work schedule is going to be yet either.
