I do I fucking hate it and thought it was a bad idea since I watched the dudes who came up with it trying to explain it in a late night talkshow. 'see it's gonna be like the internet, but condensed to 128 characters, and that's how you'll get news.' Because that's what we needed to do, simplify, tokenize and degrade human communication even more.

Sometimes it feels like there's a party going on over there that I'm missing out on, but then I watch the people coming and going and think nope. It would be nice to have somewhere to post socially though... FA's journals are okay but not conducive to posting two or three times a day about trivial stuff, since you're flooding at that point.

That's kind of where things like Facebook, Tumblr, and Reddit ended up stepping in. And way back in the day, MySpace and LiveJournal (I'm that old). There's also Tiktock, Youtube vlogging, instagram, and probably a dozen others that I never bothered to learn of. But they also have their own pitfalls, as any platform does. So the fact that twitter's tiny micro-posting rage machine existence is still going is a testament to how integrated it made itself to people, how dedicated people are to their distilled opinion forum, and how fucked we are as a society.

Not that things have really changed over the centuries. Technology just allows us to hate on a broader scope now, and argue with people farther away than our backyard. That is just human nature, now with a bite sized megaphone and satellite broadcasting. I choose not to engage with it. If that means I'm the grumpy old man out of the loop, then so be it. I have enough problems of my own to deal with.

Not sure I really want to go making an actual RealGore site. That would be a bit too much trouble and the wrong kind of attention. I'll stick with Discord, Telegram, and notes.
